I took the past travelling days as the time to rest and reflect. Hindi ko alam kung pa'no naging tama ang sinabi ni Queen Freya sa'kin— na malalamon ng paghihiganti ang puso ko, at hindi ko masyadong mararamdaman ang sakit dulot ng pagkamatay ni Ajax.
But I wonder… why and how can I act like it didn't happen at all? How can I not grieve as if he didn't die?
Napabalikwas ako dahil sa katok sa cabin ko. I sighed and went on to open my door. Oh, it's Zavis. Napansin ko agad ang berde niyang mga mata.
"Would you like some tea, mi Sashyana?" he asked. However, I'm sure he didn't really mean to have tea with me. Maybe he wants some talk over something.
"My pleasure," tugon ko at pinatay ang kandila sa lampara ng cabin ko. I slightly peeked at Zavis, and saw him scanning my cabin— not because he's curious, but because he's suspiscious.
I tugged his shirt, so he was caught off guard for a moment. Nawalay naman ang tingin niya sa cabin ko, at sinara na ang cabin ko.
"It's not as if I'm plotting something against your league, Zavis."
Zavis shook his head. "My apologies, Sashyana."
"Saskia," I corrected. "Please."
"Yes, Saskia," he hesitantly said and gulped. Nauna naman siyang maglakad sa'kin, at sumunod nalang din ako. I assume that we were heading to the main deck.
Umakyat siya, at inalalayan pa ako. He motioned his arm forward, and I saw a mini table. Nauna naman akong maglakad sa kaniya, ngunit nagmadali siya para ipaghila ako ng upuan.
Wow, gentleman. "Thank you," I muttered and looked at my tea. Hm, I like the aroma, but it differs from the mix of Nievesians.
"Ah, it's a Fuego mix, Saskia. Nais mo bang papaltan?" tanong niya.
"No, silly." I chuckled. "It's just been a long time since I had good tea."
"I assume you have rest enough, Saskia."
I nodded in response, before sipping from the tea. "Yes, I have. Narito ba tayo upang pag-usapan ang training ko?"
"Only if you are ready."
"Kailan ba tayo makakarating sa Nieves Kingdom?"
"April 21, I think," aniya. "So you can train for at least two weeks, but honestly, that's a very short time to train. Our cambions train for years—"
"You know I'm not like the other cambions that you have," pagputol ko sa sinasabi niya. "I am Sashyana Kiaundra Nieves."
He chuckled and shook his head. "What confidence."
Nainsulto naman ako sa sinabi niya. Is he implying that I'm weak? Muntik na akong suminghal, ngunit pinigilan ko nalang ang sarili ko.
"You even fainted before you could have your power to full blast."
"That was because of—" tumigil naman ako agad nang maalala na hindi ko nga pala pwedeng ipagsabi sa iba na isa ring Cambion si Queen Freya.
"Okay, fine. Susubukan ko," bawi ko agad. He just nodded and smiled lightly, and sipped from his tea.
"So… what do I need to know?" I asked. "Or do?"
"Former was correct. You must have knowledge first before we actually proceed to the training," he answered. The next thing he did was rest his elbows in the table and lean towards me.
