SASKIA

He turned to me with a smirk, then stuck out his tongue.

Umirap naman ako, at hinintay nalang siyang matapos sa pagbabayad sa isang storage shop or kung s'an namin pwedeng pansamantalang iwanan ang gamit namin.

I looked around to study the place. Visland March is the typical town I'd imagine or read in books. There are small shops, merchants, buildings that are made of stones, and cottages. And lots of soldiers around. As expected, marches are really meant to protect the whole kingdom.

He glanced at me over his shoulder. I still held his hand and his lips lifted from ear to ear.

He frowned, but I could still notice his suppressed smile. "This once, please, Saskia?" paawa n'yang tanong.

Napabuntung-hininga naman ako, at tumango nalang. I just really couldn't resist him sometimes. No not sometimes, always.

He beamed a smile at me, and pulled me to a reserved seat. How did he got a reserved seat anyway? Unless matagal niya na talaga itong binalak.

I smile inwardly in that thought. He's really very thoughtful, and I couldn't just have the guts to say thank you.

He chuckled as he shook his head, "I know you miss the life of being a royal. Just enjoy this day with me."

Natigilan ako dahil sa sinabi niya. He smiled so genuinely that for a moment I really wanted to follow what he said. For a moment, I wanted to be a royalty again and give him a life he deserves.

"What if I really become a royalty again?" I wondered aloud.

"I'd be glad if you become a royalty who cares for her people, but if you're not going to be one and you'd only care for me then don't bother thinking."

Natamaan naman ako bigla, lalo pa't diretsong pagkakasabi niya n'on. Napalunok ako dahil naisip kong tama siya. I really don't care for others at all. I only care for him...

"Oh, hindi ka makasagot." He chuckled again.

He gets so startled when I say things like that.

"Hello, everything!" biro ko, at kumindat pa.

He snorted and just looked at the menu. I'm sure he knows what I want to eat.

He raised his hand to call for someone, and my eyes drifted to the view outside.

My head turned to that direction, and the moment I opened my eyes, I saw no one.

But I can feel them.

I can clearly feel their souls, and it's like I can grasp their body. I'm sure someone is there, but how can I see them? I can only feel threads between me and them.

"Anong tinitingnan mo, Saskia?"

My jaw almost dropped when I saw our table almost full.

"Where the heck did you get the money to buy this much?" halos pasigaw kong tanong.

Maybe I was just hallucinating- I hope so. Ajax put some seafood and rice on my plate, so I put down my hijab again and started eating.

"Dahan-dahan sa pagkain, mahal na Prinsesa."

I glared at him. "Ikaw?

We talked and talked about things. Although, we're always together, we never miss a topic to talk about. I'd always scold him for talking while his mouth is full, and he'd just mock me more.

The day went on with just the two of us having fun and bonding with each other, and having no worries at all. It's as if we forgot the world and our past life.

I looked at him and saw how beautifully the moonlight gleamed in his eyes.

I sighed and nodded. Indeed, I wish for everyday to be a day like this. Is it really possible to live a life without worries?

It was an expression of sadness or longing. But... for what reason would he feel that way? Now, I'm not sure if it was still the moonlight that make his eyes gleam, or if it was because of his tears.

"Ajax?"

"What's wrong?" tanong ko.

Umiling siya at maliit na namang ngumiti. "Nothing... I'm just- I-," he sighed. "I'm overwhelmed by this moment."

He pulled me closer to his chest, and I felt his heart loud heartbeeat.

He laughed so genuinely, and said, "'Til death do us part."
