Chapter 7

"Bitawan mo nga ako." mariin kong bulong sa kanya. 

I secretly elbowed his stomach so that he would let go of me. Pero sa halip na bitawan ako, lalo niya pang hinigpitan ang pagkakakapit sa akin. The saleslady went away after telling us the price of the curtain.

"Where did you get the idea that I am jealous? Huh?" I asked him.

Humalukipkip ako sa harap niya at nagtaas ng kilay.

"Bakit? Hindi ba?" He teasingly said. "Kung makatingin ka kanina pakiramdam ko bubulagta na lang agad 'yung saleslady sa harap ko. Scary."

"Hindi 'no!" I sneered 

I turned around and started to walk towards the book store. Why would he do that? The people might think that we have a relationship. Bakit ba kasi ako pumayag na samahan 'to dito, e. It's not a good idea. Maybe it is not good for us to breath the same air. 

"Lagi mo na lang akong iniiwan." I heard him say behind me.

"Ang bagal mo kasi kumilos. Kailangan ko na makapagpasa agad." I tried to avoid him. "Teka, ano pa ba kailangan nating hanapin?"

"Hmm. Wedding rings." he said.

"Wedding what? Wedding rings? Talaga ba?" 'di makapaniwala kong tanong. "Is that even necessary? Joke joke lang naman 'to.

"Kj ka ba?" he paused. "Para lang feel na feel nila 'yung kasal-kasalan."

We continued to walk and reached the bookstore. Pagpasok namin sa loob, dumeretso kami sa parte na puro laruan. I let him look for the items that he needed. I went to the pens and I felt like was immediately inside a bubble. Paradise ko talaga 'to. I scanned through the highlighters and calligraphy pens to look for new ones.

"Oh my gosh!" I exclaimed. "Glitter highlighters." 

Nagningning ang mga mata ko nang kumuha ako ng dalawang higlighter. I grabbed a platinum and rose-colored higlighter. I was supposed to look for Ace para malaman kung tapos na siyang maghanap ng mga kailangan namin. When I turned around, I almost jumped when I saw him behind me.

"Jusko, bakit 'di ka nagsasalita?" I held my chest.

He didn't answer me. He just smiled widely, showing his deep set of dimples. Napansin kong may tinatago siya sa likod niya kaya naman sinubukan kong silipin ito pero ayaw niyang ipakita. I heard the people in our aisle gasped when he suddenly knelt down.

"Huy. Tumayo ka 'jan. Tayo!" he didn't even budge. "Anak ng. Ace nakakahiya ka. Iiwan kita 'jan."

I massaged my nose bridge because of the stress that I am currently feeling. Nag-adik na naman siguro 'to. I was shocked when he raised his right hand, holding a ring. Napalingon ako sa paligid namin at nakita na maraming nakatingin. Some were even taking pictures. Damn it!
