Zola

"If she posts one more assignment I'm gonna have to set this bitch off." Lennox sighed dramatically and closed her laptop.

I shook my head with a laugh and opened it again.

"You have one more paragraph, you got it, Len."

Lennox, Daya, and I are hanging out at the coffee shop near campus. We decided to catch up with each other and schoolwork.

Between school, work, and other relationships, it gets hard to give the appropriate amount of time to my best friends. Nonetheless, I always do.

"I have to use the bathroom, I'll be right back." I snuck a piece of Daya's blueberry muffin and ducked off to the restroom.

Once I was at the door, I motioned to open it but it was slammed closed again. I looked above the handle and saw a nice manicured hand, with very long pink stilettos decorating their fingers.

"Do you need to use the-" I stopped in the middle of my sentence when I saw Brynn standing there with nothing but anger radiating off of her body.

"What the hell did you tell Lee?"

I looked her up and down and tried my hardest to process what's happening. Is she really doing this in the back of a coffee shop?

"I just told him what happened." I shrugged and tried to open the door, but failed again once she blocked me with her whole body.

"I don't know who you think I am, Zola the roommate, but you got something twisted. Lee is one of my closest friends and you definitely won't be in his life long after trying to tear us apart."

"Actually," I took my hand away from the handle, "It's 'Zola the girlfriend,' now, and I think I'll be in his life a while, thanks. You can have the restroom." I walked back to my table and let out a short breath.

What the hell was that? What is she doing here, is that a coincidence? Is this what comes with having a sexy boyfriend?

I stopped typing on my laptop once I felt Lennox and Daya's eyes on me.

"So, you weren't gonna tell us about that mean girl shit that just happened at the bathroom door?"

Shit.

"Oh, guys it's fine. Really, nothing to-"

"Who was she and why was she all up in your space like that?" Daya cut me off and began to tie her long, dark hair up.

"It's just Brynn, nothing to-"

Lennox and Daya looked at each other in disbelief then nodded simultaneously.

Before I could stop them, they made their way to the bathroom door where Brynn still stood, just staring at us.

"What's your problem, crazy bitch?" Lennox asked, folding her arms with Daya.

"None of your business, it's between me and her."

"When her business includes spiteful bitches like you, it's our business too." Daya nodded, pointing towards herself and Lennox.

"Oh, I see. Y'all came over here to tell me I got the wrong one? Y'all wanna fight, huh? Classic ghetto girls fighting for their timid little friend who can't do shit."

"First off, watch your mouth. Second, you absolutely do not have the wrong ones, you have the right ones to put you in the wrong situation."

"Hello." Daya sang from Lennox's side.
