Final exams have been kicking my ass.

I say that every year, but I'm really getting the beat down this time.

I have a lot more going on, from relationships to work, and finding time to study and prep myself is challenging.  Fortunately, I only have 2 exams left and I'm confident that I can pass both of them.

Right now, I'm taking a study break so I decided to start on dinner.  Rhett and Elon are over and I know they're hungry, those two could eat the whole menu of a restaurant in under an hour.

"That smells good, mama." Lee came to my side, with Scampi in his hand, and kissed my cheek, then slapped my ass cheek with his free hand. I've gotten used to him slapping my ass, I don't even feel the sting anymore.  In all honesty, it feels good sometimes.

"Mhm, get my son away from the food, you know he sheds a lot." I placed the pot on the stove and took a sip of my infused water.

"Tuh, me and my  son are going to get some real drinks.  You want something?"

"Lemonade, and get some ice, please."

"Shotgun!" Rhett ran out of the front door with a childish chuckle.

"I'm not even goin', dumbo!" Elon shouted from the living room.

I shook my head and gave Lee a kiss before he left.

For a while, I organized the taco toppings in peace with nothing but the low soul music to guide me.  I felt a familiar presence behind me so I turned around, Elon sat on a barstool and looked like a confused puppy.

"You good, Elon?"

"Can I ask you something?"

I nodded and stopped moving to give him my undivided attention.  In the beginning, I had trouble figuring Elon out.  I originally thought he was serious like Vaughn, but I learned he's incredibly goofy, not like Bentley and Rhett though.

He kinda reminds me of Lee, they're in their own lanes.  Not too serious, but not too playful.  Right now, Elon seems a little too serious.

"You've known Daya for a while, do you think she'd cheat on somebody?" My eyes widened at the question.

This is the last thing I wanted. I always worried that I'd get put in the middle of one of their issues because they're both my friends, but I didn't think it would happen this soon.  My loyalty obviously lies with Daya, but I'm not really sure about that question.

Daya gets bored really quickly, but she's never cheated on anyone.  Not since we've been friends at least.  Daya always breaks up with the guy before she moves on.  Nonetheless, I couldn't truthfully say I think it's something she wouldn't  do.  I can't tell Elon that though.

"No, she wouldn't do that." I shook my head and turned around to hide the guilty look on my face.

I felt bad as soon as I said it.  Elon is a genuine guy, he's been nothing but good to me.  But I couldn't betray Daya like that, she's my best friend.  I can only hope that Daya wouldn't do that to him.

"Thank you, Zola.  I was just asking, being stupid I guess," he shrugged with a small laugh and stood up from the stool, "Let me know if you need any help."

I nodded with a fake smile and picked up my dinging phone.

I shuttered at the message and deleted it, blocking another weird unknown number.  They're actually starting to creep me out now.
