When the walls come down

Chapter 7

"Alix"! Kim shook her but she didn't get up.

She groaned and opened her eyes. "What are you doing here"? She whispered.

"I saw you limping out the door and came over to see if you were ok" he explained.

"Well I'm totally fine so bye" she said and stood up, only to fall back into Kim's arms.

"Let me take care of you" he said.

Alix blushed and nodded her head. He picked her up and set her on her bed before grabbing a bandage to wrap her foot.

"What happened"? Kim asked as he wrapped her ankle.

"Someone pushed me down the stairs at school" she replied.

"How did you manage to walk home"? He asked.

"I don't know" she said and laid her head on her pillow. He looked up and saw she had fallen asleep once her head hit the pillow.

He smiled and put a blanket over her. Kim saw her arms were also wrapped but he didn't think much about it.

He moved her hair out of her face and lingered there for a second before leaving the room. He figured he should say just in case Alix need him again.

Kim sat in the couch and checked his phone.

There was a text message from his father that barely made any sense. He ignored it.

Alix is his top priority right now and his father won't stop him from helping her.

Two hours later, Alix shot up from her nightmare with a scream.

She looked up and saw Kim at the door, obviously startled by her scream.

"What happened"? he sat on the bed. "N-n-nothing" she stuttered still shaken up.

"Alix" he reached for her arms but she pulled them back. He immediately knew she didn't want him to know what was under her bandages.

"What's wrong with your arms" he said worried.

She looked down and started to cry. Alix didnt stop Kim this time as he pulled her into his arms.

"Shh" he whispered "Its alright, you dont have to tell me".

"I'm so used to being alone, I dont know how to let someone in" she cried.

"I know, I get it" he stroked her hair. Her cries went down to a sniffle.

"You do"? She looked at him through her tears. Kim nodded and looked away.

He sighed "I'll tell you my secret if you tell me yours". Alix debated this and decided it was finally time to tell someone.

"Ok, but dont be mad" she started to unwrap her arm but stopped because her hands were shaking. Kim moved closer and took the bandage from her hand.

"I'll do it" he said and continued unwrapping it.

He saw cuts all up her arm.

Alix teared up, he was definitely mad at her. She went to pull her arm away but Kim kept her from doing that.

"Kim"? She sniffed, "I'm sorry".

"Hey, its ok" he placed a hand on her face and wiped away her tears. "Some of these look bad" he stood up.

"Come with me" he offered her his hand.

"I don't want to touch you" she said.

Kim understood immediately "I'm not going to disappear". "But" she started.

"Alix, I'll be ok" she met his eyes. She reached a shakey hand towards his hand and took it.

"See, I'm ok" he helped her up and brought her to the bathroom. "This might hurt" he said turning on the tap water to warm.

"I trust you" Alix whispered.

Kim must have heard because he blushed and slowly put her arm under the water. She winced at the pain.

"Sorry" he apologized. "I can take it" she said.

He unbandaged the other arm and ran it under the water. Alix watched him carefully dry her arms off and rewrap them with new bandages.

"Done" he smiled. "Thanks" she gave him a small smile back.

"Gods she's cute" Kim thought and blushed.

Alix saw him blushing and turned red. "Um Kim" she snapped him out of his thoughts.

"Sorry, I guess it's time I tell you my secret" he sighed, "Do you have any makeup wipes"?

She looked at him funny but then pointed at the cupboard. "Ok, I'll be out in a second".

She nodded and returned to her room. What could his secret be?

She sat on her bed and got stuck in her thoughts.

Kim cleared his throat and Alix snapped out of her trance. He had his hood up so she couldnt see his face.

"Promise me you wouldn't freak out" he said.

"I promise" she pulled down his hood and gasped.
