When the walls come down

Chapter 4

Alix was in the bathroom, wrapping her arms when she heard the door bell ring.

She quickly finished bandaging her arm and went to the door.

"Who is it"? she asked

"Alix, it's me" Alix cursed under her breath. "Please let me in" Kim said on the other side.

She grabbed the handle. She wanted to let him in but couldn't bring herself to open the door.

"I can't" she said. "You should just give up".

"I already told you, I'm not going to give up on you" he replied.

Alix slumped against the door and cried. "Just leave" she said. "Please stay".

"I'll go" he said. "But before I do". He sat down and pulled out a piece of paper and a pencil.

Alix listened to the sound of a pencil sliding along paper. "Bye Alix" Kim said and left.

She stood up and ran to her room, slamming the door in the process. "Why do I push everyone away"? she said to herself.

Kim left Alix and went downstairs to find her dad. He found him talking to some visitors in the Egyptian section.

"This is Alix's favorite section" he thought as he waited for the people to leave.

"Hey Kim" Mr Kubdel said when he turned around. "Are you looking for Alix"?

"Yes, I went to the door but she didnt answer" he held out the note he'd written. "Could you give her this"?

"Of course, I'll make sure she gets it" he smiled.

"Thanks Mr Kubdel" Kim said and left the Louvre.

Alix's dad was so kind, even after his wife died. But Kim's dad was only nice to the cashier ringing in his booze.

He opened his door and saw his father on the couch. "Where were you"? He slurred.

Kim didnt say anything so his father got up and walked over to him. "I said where were you"! He repeated.

"At a friends house" he said before getting hit.

"What friend"? His father stumbled back. "Alix's" he said and quickly made his way to his room.

He fell onto his bed. "What am I supposed to do" he thought.

Back at Alix's house, she heard her dad come in and wiped her tears.

She looked in the mirror and smiled, trying to look as normal as possible before walking into the kitchen.

"Hey dad" she hugged him.

"Hey sweetie, how was your day"?  he asked.

Luckily her dad didn't read the news so he didn't know about her being akumatized again.

"It was good" she replied. Her dad reached inside his pocket and pulled out Kim's note.

"Kim wanted me to give this to you, he said you didn't open the door". He said as she took it.

"Oh yeah, I was taking a nap" she lied. Her dad nodded and grabbed something to eat before heading to his room.

Alix went back into her room and opened the note. "Dare you to come to school tomorrow" it read.

"Touche, idiot" she thought.

She'd have to face everyone, after what she did. Alix got up and went to the bathroom, locking the door in the process.

She started water for a bath. She had about 5 minutes before someone started to worry.

Alix unbandaged her arm and pulled out a razor blade.

"What am I supposed to do" she thought.

The next morning Kim managed to get out of his house before his father woke up.

He hoped his plan to get Alix to come to school would work because he need to see her.

"Why though" he thought before Max interrupted.

"Hi Kim, what are you thinking about"? he asked.

"Nothing" he replied. The two of them walked in the class and sat down in their seats.

Kim watched his classmates enter the room and grew anxious.

"What if she doesnt come"? but as soon as he thought that,

Alix walked in.
