(Mya's POV)

I pulled my blankets further over my head, my eyes half open as I heard the boys leave the bus to go to sound check. As much as I wanted to go watch, I wasn't getting up anytime soon. I was too tired. The tour was exhausting but I was having fun and kinda getting used to everything. My phone buzzed and reached into my bag and pulled it out. I had about twenty new messages from Marley that were all from the past ten minutes.

Where are you?
Mya, where are you?
Are you comming?
Mya?
Get up!
Come on!
They're starting!
MYA!!
GET!
UP!
Get out of your bunk!
Mya!!
Mya!!
Get your butt over here!!
Jeff's looking for you!
Ok, I lied. He's not really looking for you.
But still, come on!
Mya!
You're missing out!
MYA!!

I shook my head and rolled out of my bunk. I got dressed and made my way to the venue. When I walked in, Marley noticed me and grabbed me by my arm and dragged me to the stage area. "Where have you been?" She asked.

"Sleeping." I answered.

Marley let out and over dramatic sigh. "You're on tour with the Newsboys, Mya.  There's too much stuff to see and no more time for sleeping in."

"Fine." I replied. "I'll get up early next time."

"Good." Marley said.

The rest of the morning and afternoon went on as normal. As much as I hated to admit it, Marley's plan may have worked a little bit. I kept sneaking glances at Jeff throughout the day and if he noticed we would both quickly look away. Maybe there was something there, maybe we had a connection, maybe we would work, but but I still didn't like him that way. We're just friends.

The night went on as every night did. The boys would do their show, the gear would get packed, and we would head back on the road. I called my mom every now and then and she seemed fine which took a huge weight off my shoulders. I eventually told Avery and the guys about my mom. They shared the same reaction that Jeff had.

By the time we arrived to our next show in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, Marley and I had gotten a pretty good hold on how things went. Avery was right: we had pretty much gotten used to tour life. It was a little exhausted but we were having a blast. The boys had posted a couple of photos of us on their instagram page and mine and Marley's own personal pages had been blowing up with follows and people asking us questions. It was fun getting to respond to people and even getting to meet a few of them after shows. I did kinda like the attention. I guess it's because I didn't get a lot of attention from my mom growing up.

I remember I asked her a out one day. She told me it was because I reminded her of my dad. I looked like him, love the same music he did. She said I laugh and smile like he did. I don't remember much of my dad. I remember the Newsboys concert he took me too. My very first one. We were sitting about four rows from the stage. I was really little at the time so I had to stand in my chair and sometimes my dad would hold me so that I could see. We had an opportunity to meet them but it was late and we needed to get home. I remember being upset but on the way home my dad told that one day I would meet them. I wondered how he would react if he knew I was on tour with them?

"Are you coming?"  Everyone else had already made their way to the stage, except for Jeff who was the last one on the bus besides me.

"Yeah." I said, getting up from the couch.

"Are you okay?" Jeff asked.

"Yeah. I was just thinking." I replied.

Jeff nodded and the two of us headed to the stage. We walked a little close to one another but neither of us moved or said anything about it. Every couple of seconds we would look at each other and smile.

"You know, if you every need someone to talk to," Jeff said, suddenly. "You can come find me and I'll be ready to listen."

I smiled and out of nowhere I grabbed his hand and gave it a small squeeze. "Thank you."

I don't know what was happening, whether Marley's plan worked or not, there was something there.

But did I want to believe it?
