Chapter 25: Answering the Fans

The morning came around quicker than any of us wanted it to. Planning and seething up for tonight's show was already proving to be more strenuous then previous ones. The boys were doing a pre show q&a and meet and greet which both required extra preparations.

"Mya! Marley!"

Marley and I were helping put out chairs for tonight's show when we heard Avery calling for us. We saw her walking out from behind the stage with Aidyn behind her.

"What's up?" Marley finished her row.

"Do you two wanna be special guest at the boys' pre show q&a tonight?" Avery asked. "The fans requested it. They've been wanting to ask you guys questions."

Marley and I looked at each other. Neither of us had ever been on stage or a q&a before. But it was comforting knowing that it was the fans that wanted us to be out there.

"What do the guys think?" I asked.

"They think you should it."

Marley and I smiled and shrugged. "Sure. We'll do it."

Avery nodded and went off, Aidyn skipping happily in front of her. Marley and I finished setting up the chairs in the floor section, just as the guys were coming on stage for soundcheck. I hopped up on stage and walked over to Jeff's side.

"Hey." He looked up from his keyboard. "Did Avery ask you about the q&a?"

"Yeah." I said. "Marley and I are doing it."

You guys will like it." Jeff reassured me. "They're a lot of fun."

"I sure hope so." I pressed a couple of the keys on his keyboard. "Anything I need to know for it?"

"Not really. Someone asks a question to all of us or just one of us and we answer."

"Simple as that?" I raised an eyebrow.

"Simple as that." Jeff nodded. "Speaking of, should we decide on what we're gonna say if someone asks about us?"

"Oh yeah." I said rubbing the back of my neck. Truth be told, I hadn't thought of what we gonna say to the fans about our relationship. I had no doubt they had their suspicions since I posted pics of us on my Instagram and we could be see being pretty close to each other of the boys' Instagram.

"I want you to decide." Jeff went on. "Since you want to the things slow. I'll be happy with whatever you say."

I thought about it for a moment. "I want to make it official to the fans. So if someone asks if we're a couple, we say yes."

Jeff seemed pleased with my decision. The rest of the day was spent with the guys getting ready for the show. Marley and I got together and pre planned some of our answers to questions we knew we'd get asked.

When it came time for the q&a, the guys went out and after a brief introduction of themselves, Michael gave a brief intro for me and Marley and then we went and joined them on stage.

The first couple of questions were for the boys but then a young girl was called on and she looked right at me and Marley. "What's been your guy's favorite thing about being on tour?" She asked.

"Um.." I looked over at Marley thinking she would answer first but when it looked like she was actually thinking of her answer, I continued on. "I'd say getting to know the band. These guys have become genuine friends and established a while ago, Jody and I have this 'older brother- little sister' relationship."

"You took my answer." Marley said, earning laughs from the crowd. "I'd say the same plus getting to go to so many cool cities and towns."

The next few questions Marley and I were asked were fairly simple ones.

"How old are you guys?"

"Who's your favorite member?"

"What's your favorite song?"

"Favorite city you've been to?"

At this point, I was happy Marley and I agree to do this. It was amazing getting to answer the fans and let them know even more about us. Some questions we had to think about our answers and some we knew right away.

We went through a few more questions, some jusy for the boys, some just for Marley and me, and some for all six of us. Just as the q&a was wrapping up, a young girl who was maybe fourteen, asked the question I was partially expecting.

"Are Jeff and Mya a couple?" She asked enthusiastically.

All eyes were on me and Jeff as everyone waited for our answer. Thankfully we were prepared snd I decided to speak for us.

"As a matter of fact, yes we are. As of May, we are official." I answered, earning cheers, awws, and some whistles from the audience.

We answered a couple of final questions then the boys left to get ready for the show. Marley and I stayed back and talked with some of the fans. They asked a few more questions ablut the tour and some ask me questions about Jeff and I. Some pics were taken then Marley and I excused ourselves and went to meet up the the boys backstage.

We found Avery and Aidyn waiting for the boys. "You guys did great." Avery smiled.

"Thanks. It was alot of fun." Marley responded.

The guys came out and went to their sides. Once they took the stage, the excitement and joy in the arena went up. My favorite part kf the shows were looking out into the crowd. Seeing the way adults, lids, teenagers reacted to songs. Seeing who was being moved and who was just having a fun time. A few times in between songs, Jeff would look over at me and all he would give me was a smile but it was a smile that was full of happiness, excitement and love.

The tour was much closer to being over now. I hated the thought of it ended but the excitement of the mystery of what would come next was much greater.

What would come next? I had no clue.

But whatever it was, my friends and my family would be there with me.

I was more than ready for it.

A/N: So I was looking at how my Newsboys story timeline adds up and plots of the other stories and I realized something that I have now changed so I'm gonna explain it again.

So In chapter 1 of Love Riot, Mya says that her first Newsboys concert was when she was four years old and as mentioned before the boys are in their early 30s so that they're not much older than Mya who is 28, so that means when Mya was four, the boys at the youngest were 8 years old at the time.

So I want to address that in this story's universe the Newsboys before our current boys, they were made up of  George Perdikis(guitar), John James(vocals), Sean Taylor(bass), Corey Pryor(keyboards) and an unamed drummer(in the entire history of band members, they've only had two drummers, Peter and Duncan. They've cycled through so many for guitar and bass and keyboards).

They started the band and later Peter Furler joined and then the other four of them left and Duncan, Jeff, and Jody met Peter and Phil joined and they were the Newsboys and as what actually happened Peter and Phil left and Michael joined.

This has to be this way so that Peter and Phil aren't like way older the the current ones for the fourth book. So for just this weird au I'm making up, Peter wasn't a founder of the band. Just for this.

Just so there's no confusion on how stuff lines up
