"Trust me, I know these halls better than anyone." Taehyung dragged Jungkook along the halls of the Laurel Castle. The blonde was leading him to the tallest lookout tower, so they could go through with their plan.
It had been a day since Jungkook finalized the plan that they hoped would take out the man leading the undead army. Taehyung listened to Mr. Park's plan using his extraordinary listening skills and relayed it to his team. Florian was hesitant to send them off so premature into developing the plan, but there was no other way. Noirwood was already in the tight grip of Mr. Park and his army.
"I hope Florian got the kids in the right places. Me and Jimin will need to get to them once you lead Eonjin down to the spot."
Jungkook felt semi-confident in the plan, given his newfound power. However, with Eonjin as a questionable threat in the mixture, they had to be careful. Taehyung was coming along for that purpose, to try and determine whether the woman who he'd heard was going to try and kill Jungkook was serious, or was just acting.
The blonde didn't know how serious Eonjin was, since he couldn't see her when she said it. However, she spoke of vengeance with an intensity Taehyung had never heard from her before. It stemmed from her belief that Florian was dead. Mr. Park himself believed the man was dead, so when he passed along this detail to her, Eonjin was crushed.
"They'll be fine." Taehyung wrapped his arm around the ravenette's waist. "I'm more worried about if we can bring Mr. Park down...convince Eonjin that I'm giving him Noirwood...and prevent her from killing you if she was serious, of course."
Jungkook giggled, but his heart wasn't in it. "I don't understand how Mr. Park thinks Florian died but he let Eonjin believe that I didn't..." He paused as they rounded a corner, passing by some gossiping Laurel Servants. "We both technically fell off the ledge."
"Yeah." Taehyung squeezed Jungkook closer to him as some soldiers stormed down the hall yelling out frantic orders. The two demons were both disguised with the invisibility veil placed on them by Jimin, but that didn't mean they didn't have to be careful. "I'm glad you didn't die. Well, you did--and then you came back so...yeah! I'm perfectly fine with that. Also, I'm glad you didn't die. Did I say that already? Uh, yeah so-"
"Tae, are you that nervous?" Jungkook could hear the shakiness in his husband's babbling. Taehyung was clearly not paying mind to anything that was leaving his mouth. "It's all right, you know. If I didn't think you could handle taking Mr. Park and Eonjin to the spot alone I wouldn't have included it in the plan. Plus, I'll be there the whole time! Just not...in sight. I'll be right here."
Jungkook reached up, pointing not to the blonde's heart but to his ears. If Taehyung's hearing failed at any point of this plan, it was going to fail.
"Yeah...hah...okay..." Taehyung licked his lips. The pair had almost reached the highest point of the tower, where Mr. Park and Eonjin were set to arrive. "I'll try to stay calm..."
"Good."
Jungkook pushed past Taehyung so that he was standing in front of the other. The blonde fiddled with the hem of his shirt, looking down at his feet.
