New Chapter!!!
Excuse the mistakes

I sprinted through the line of trees and broke into the backyard, where I resorted back to my human form. I grabbed the first shirt and pants that I saw and yanked them on as I ran towards the door to the pack house. The shirt was too small, and the pants were too big, but I couldn’t even find the strength to care.
The pain in my gut was too great.
It had erupted right after I’d brought down two hunters with the help of Adam and Jaime. We were moving to find other wolves that needed help, and suddenly, I felt like my insides were on fire. I’d collapsed and immediately shifted to my human form, where I lay gasping from the immense pain.
When Adam and Jaime came to my aid and asked what had happened, I told them, and Adam stated that something had happened to Eli, and judging by the burning sensation, it had to do with a silver bullet.
After the pain subsided and I could move, I’d shifted back to my wolf form and taken off in the direction of the pack house. I was absolutely terrified that I would enter the medic rooms only to find Eli dead. We were finally working things out, and I didn’t want to lose him.
I flew through the hallways and burst into the first medic room I saw. However, instead of finding my mate, I found my mom. Gracie, Fletcher’s mate, was writing on a chart, and her head, as well as my mom’s, snapped to me as I barged into the room.
“Oh honey,” my mom said quietly, sitting up.
“What happened?” I asked, staring at the bloodstained gauze wrapped around her ankle.
“I got caught in one of the hunter’s traps,” she replied, “I would’ve been killed if it weren’t for Eli.”
“What?” I breathed, “What did he do?” My hand clutched my side instinctively, and my mom watched before sighing.
“I was by myself when I got caught, and before I could figure out how to release myself, a hunter showed up. He was about to shoot me, but Eli intervened,” my mom explained, and she paused before adding, “He got shot in the struggle.”
“Adam was right,” I murmured, and then in a much stronger voice, I asked, “Where is he?”
“Dot, I—”
“Where is he?” I repeated firmly, cutting off her words. My mom sighed and then told me that he was in the room next door. She started to say something else, but I was already gone through the door.
Before I walked into Eli’s room, I took a moment to take a deep breath and prepare myself for the worst. Then, I turned the door knob and entered the room. As soon as my eyes fell on Eli, I knew now was the worst possible to walk in there.
Two doctors were bent over Eli, and I watched in silent horror as they dug into his stomach to pull out the bullet. Eli’s skin was pale, and even though he was unconscious, his muscles seemed to clench with every movement the doctors made.
Finally, one of the medics looked up and saw me. “Dot! I’m sorry, but you can’t be in here right now!”
That was just the push I needed. I threw myself out of the room and slammed my back against the wall opposite it. My chest rose and fell quickly as I felt the beat of my heart quicken, but then my body went limp and I slid down the wall until I was sitting on the floor.
