░▒▓█▓▒░ "Please tell me you're not Twitter stalking that girl you're trying to get a date with," Travis remarks with a laugh, seeing Awsten on his phone. "I'm not a creep," Awsten mutters, rolling his eyes, "I'm not Twitter stalking her. And her name is Skylar. Oh, and I'm not even on Twitter; looking at some article about how to do some basic magic tricks." "You were around her for, like, a minute," Travis retorts, "I feel like you're a little too attached." "Hey, that whole interaction made my fucking day," Awsten defends himself, "it was cute as hell and now I kinda feel bad for lying though. The kid genuinely believed I was magical it was adorable." "He's a kid! Of course he believed it," Travis remarks with a laugh. "And what's that gotta do with the mom?" "Skylar was nice and I've talked to her little and, I don't know, I guess I just like her," Awsten doesn't really know how to explain it. "I don't really get it." "You've got a crush," Travis sums up, "but a dumb middle school type crush where it exists for no reason." "Fuck off," Awsten mutters with a laugh, "there's gotta be a reason it exists." ●☆●☆●☆●☆● "I'm gonna google him," Christina announces, having spent the last five minutes silently going over what she's decided on calling the awsten situation until she can think of something more creative. "Chris, no," Skylar tells her with a laugh, "that's creepy!" "He's famous," Christina defends herself, "and you're a mom who's gotta know who she might bringing into her kid's life. If anything, googling him is the responsible thing to do." "Then why are you going right to images instead of trying to actually find something about him," Skylar retorts, resisting the slight temptation to look at the results. "One, to see if there are pictures with a ton of different people that look like they could be relationship stuff because if there's a bunch of people that probably means he's not looking for commitment and you don't do casual hookups so you wouldn't want to waste your time," Christina begins explaining as she scrolls through. "And two—hey! We know him, right?" she cuts herself off, showing a picture of Awsten with two others, one of whom is familiar to the two waitresses. "Yeah, he's a regular," Skylar confirms, "except for the fact that he disappears sometimes for a few weeks or months at a time." "Guess we know why," Christina mutters, "remember the first time he came in and I tried to get you to flirt with him? Kinda glad you didn't now 'cause that would make things with Awsten awkward as fuck." "Mommy," Ryan mumbles as he comes in, finally up after sleeping most of the day away. "I don't like being sick." "I know, honey," Skylar replies, Ryan climbing up onto her lap and resting his head on her shoulder. "Are you feeling any better at all?" "No," Ryan mutters miserably, craning his neck slightly to see what Christina is up to. "I feel gross—Christy! That's the magic man," Ryan exclaims before coughing a bit, making sure to cover his mouth as Skylar always tells him to. "D'you think he has a magic cure for sick people?" "I don't know," Christina replies with a grin, "ask your mommy! She talked to him." "You talked to him? Are we gonna see him again? Does he have to go back to his world yet? Can we please see him again when I'm not sick and gross?" Ryan fires off the questions rapidly, not noticing the brief glare Skylar sends Christina's way. "I don't know, Ry," Skylar tells him hesitantly, "he's really busy, y'know, with his magic and stuff." "Yeah," Ryan says with a nod, "only if he has time, don't wanna stop him from doing magic." ░▒▓█▓▒░
