"Skylar texted me at, like, four calling off our next date," Awsten informs him with a frown. "That doesn't explain why you're here now," Jawn comments, "you're usually asleep by now. What happened to maintaining a good sleep schedule?" "You can't judge me; you're just as awake as I am," Awsten points out with a shrug. "And I didn't wanna make a big deal about it so I spent the last few hours pretending to not give a shit but I'm actually really upset over this bullshit and you're the first person I thought to go to 'cause I didn't want a dad lecture from Geoff." "Why'd she cancel? I thought she was into you," Jawn stays on topic this time. "She is into me, she said she liked me," Awsten starts explaining, "but the fans have been assholes to her and she knows that if things get serious between us, her son might get caught in that—like, with fans being rude to him and shit. She doesn't want him going through that, which I completely understand and agree with 'cause that's no way for a kid to grow up but it still fucking sucks. This part of being famous is such bullshit.
