░▒▓█▓▒░ Trying to get back on Ryan's good side hasn't been as easy as Awsten would've hoped. The young boy is mostly dismissive to him, not paying him any attention unless Skylar is involved or Awsten puts in enough effort to make it seem worth the attention. Awsten can't really blame Ryan for not liking him, he should just be happy that he's even gotten this far. Ryan would barely even look his way at first. But there's been progress now, having occurred last night. Skylar wasn't feeling well last and, surprisingly, Ryan suggested Awsten take him to school in the morning so Skylar could get some extra sleep. Skylar was reluctant to agree to it but decided it was okay. Now, Awsten is trying to make a mile from the inch he was given. He woke up extra early to make breakfast, pancakes since he remembers that Ryan loves those, along with some eggs and bacon. After it's all ready, he wakes up Ryan. "Bribing me with food won't work," Ryan mumbles tiredly, giving Awsten an odd look. "Even if it is yummy." "Just making breakfast," Awsten replies with an innocent little shrug. "Hope it came out good." "Did you make some for mommy?" Ryan inquires, surprising Awsten with his willingness to have a conversation. "She's gotta eat for her and tiny." "Tiny?" Awsten asks with a small smile. "That's what I've been callin' the baby," Ryan explains before taking a bite of his pancake. "Y'know, 'cause it's tiny." "Makes sense," Awsten replies with a nod. "And, yeah, I made some for her but I'm not sure if she'll want that. If she's still not feeling good, she might wanna have some soup or something instead." "You should take her to the doctor," Ryan suggests, "gotta make sure her and tiny are okay." "Already made an appointment," Awsten tells him with a nod. "I'm gonna go check on her. You can get ready by yourself after you eat, right?" "I'm not a baby," Ryan mutters, closing off as suddenly as he'd opened up, "I can do stuff." Awsten nods awkwardly, leaving Ryan on his own. He almost thought they were having a breakthrough but Ryan went ice cold at then end. Quietly, he goes into Skylar's room and finds her still sleeping. He pulls the blanket up on her a little more, noticing that she seems cold. Now, all he's got to do is wait for Ryan to be ready for school and hope the drive isn't awkward. ░▒▓█▓▒░
