░▒▓█▓▒░ Awsten waits alone awkwardly at Skylar's apartment when she goes to pick up Ryan from school. Both he and Skylar are aware that Ryan won't be happy to have him back in their lives. Awsten pretty much ruined Ryan's opinion of him. In his defense, he genuinely believed he'd never have to face the consequences of that. Then again, he also was certain he'd never be with Skylar again and now they're here with plans to get married. Awsten sighs, tapping his foot and biting his nails. Time goes by all too quickly and, soon enough, Ryan and Skylar are home. As soon as Ryan walks in, Awsten wants to go back to being all nervous while waiting. "We're not friends anymore," Ryan tells Awsten simply, the young boy looking at the now purple haired man indifferently. Ryan doesn't even seem angry with Awsten anymore, as if he's passed the point of caring. "I got new friends and they don't lie and make people cry." "Okay," Awsten mumbles with a nod, unsure of what to say. "Ryan, honey, we talked about this," Skylar reminds him quietly, "be nice to Awsten." "He lied," Ryan turns away from Awsten and looks to Skylar. "Lying is bad! And he made your heart hurt a bunch! He's mean." "No, honey, he's not mean. He only lied 'cause he was trying to help. I explained all of this to you—" Skylar starts off, only to be interrupted. "I don't like his help! His help hurts," Ryan argues, tearing up at the memory. His voice goes soft after that, small and shaky. "I don't like him, mommy. I wan' him to go away." Awsten looks to Skylar for permission to join the conversation and receives a nod. "Ryan," he begins hesitantly, "I get why you don't like me, okay? I wouldn't like me either if I was you. I shouldn't have said what I did and I've spent every day since then being sorry but I wanna make it better now. I promise, I won't hurt either of you ever again." "Christy told me that when people lie they gotta earn trust back," Ryan informs him after taking a moment to think about it. "So we're not friends again yet but you can try. Only 'cause mommy still loves you." ░▒▓█▓▒░
