"Nia, over here!" Nia heard from a part of the cafeteria, it was non other than her best friend Celeste.

She smiled excitedly and went to join Celeste at the table after having not seen her all day. Celeste worked with Coma patients in the hospital so the two of them barely ever saw each other unless they rode to work together or in this case, their lunch hour.

Nia normally used half of her break to take the dog out in the middle of the day, and that usually left her with a half hour to spare, having lunch at the hospital.

"That looks delicious, what is that?" Celeste asks Nia.

"It's kind of like a BLT club sandwich, this one has turkey and cheese on it though, it is pretty good." Nia says taking another bite of her sandwich. "What are you having?" 

"A Tuna salad wrap, it's pretty good so far. How were the babies today?"

"Good per usual. One of my preemies finally got to go home for the first time in a month, so that was exciting for me." Nia admits.

"That's amazing girl, I'm glad." Celeste says with a smile.

"How about your Coma patients?"

"All good things to report, everyone has been getting better each day." Celeste replies sipping her iced coffee.

"Sooo..." Celeste says with a large grin on her face. Nia mentally facepalmed for the second time that day thinking she should've known what was coming.

"Girl, spill..."

"Spill what?" Nia asks trying to play dumb.

"Girl the tea on you and Sebastian Sta-"

"SHHHHHH...Celeste lower your voice..." Nia said interrupting her friend. "I don't want everyone knowing."

"Whoops...sorry."

"It's okay girl." Nia says with a genuine smile.

"But seriously, what the tea on you and Seabass? I've got to know." She said smiling excitedly.

"Okay, but you need to swear to me you won't tell anyone..."

"Girl, who do I have to tell? All of my patients are asleep and you know I don't mess with any of the nurses I work with." Celeste said.

"Okay True..." Nia says shrugging. "Where do I even start?"

"Try the beginning maybe?"

"Haha, very funny." Nia sarcastically replies to Celeste.

"Okay so when I brought the brownies in he tried to invite me in and I told him I couldn't because I had to get Duke out before work, and so then he was like 'Can I come walk with you?' and then I was like yes. I still don't know why I was so quick to say yes." Nia said shaking her head at herself. "So then he took me to this amazing Gelato place up the street from our complex and we just spent time talking and getting to know each other, and it ended with him inviting me over for dinner this Friday night."

"Did you accept?" Celeste asks.

"Yes..."

"GIRRRL...that's awesome! You need to move on from Derek, you know?" 

"I know...it's just hard because he was the first man who I ever really loved. The only catch was that he beat the hell out of me everyday." She said rolling her eyes. "I still can't believe I let it happen for 3 years." 

"We all make mistakes girl...maybe Sebastian is your second chance?"

"I don't want to make assumptions..."

"Nia...you are going to get slapped..." Celeste says laughing.

"What!? I-I mean he's this famous celebrity, on what planet does someone famous like him want someone like one of us?" Nia says. "Black women are slept on Celeste, and even if he does like me for real, how do I know he's not just trying to get with me as some sort of fetish? I doubt I'm even his type..."

"Trust me if he was fetishizing you, you would know. There are some good white guys out there who like women of color in secret and I'm almost certain Sebastian is one of them...just have dinner with him and see how it goes." Celeste says with a smile.

"You're right, I really should give him a chance."

"If you don't, I definitely will..." Celeste says making Nia's eyes widen at her.

"Girl, I'm kidding! I already told you I'm into Evans anyway..."

"You're a trip...you know that?" Nia says with a Chuckle.

"Dude I told you that you should go for it, I'm happy for you!" Chris says over FaceTime. "What's her friend's name?"

"I don't remember..." Sebastian says trying to think about it.

"Was it Sylvia...Sierra..."

"Celeste, her friend's name is Celeste. We're you feeling her?" Seb asks with a smile.

"Maybe...she seems interesting to me, it wouldn't hurt to get a phone number. You should play wing man for me, and propose a double date..."

"I think now is a bit too soon...we haven't even had our first date yet." Seb sighs. "I doubt she'll give me a chance at a second date anyway."

"Seb...seriously?"

"What?"

"She's evidently into you man! Why else would she have walked her dog with you and had Gelato with you?" Chris asks trying to reason with the man.

"I don't know...I guess I don't know if I'm her type."

"She doesn't strike me as someone who has a type..." Chris says. "I honestly believe that she likes you for you, now you two are going to have a good time on Friday night, just give her your seabass Charm."

"Man, I hate you..." Sebastian says laughing at Chris. "You wanna come over later on for a beer?"

"I can't, I'm going to be flying out to LA in a bit for some interviews." Chris says. "Definitely update me on the status of that double date happening though? I'll catch you later man."

"Alright later Chris, Thanks for the talk." He says laughing before hanging up the phone.

Nia parked her car in the car garage of the complex and took a picture of what floor she was on so that she could remember in the morning. She immediately rushed back to the apartment so that she could take Duke out for a potty run before feeding him his dinner.

The whole time she'd been walking around the complex, she couldn't help but feel like she was being watched. Nia looked around while Duke had been securely walking by her side and she sighed shaking off the feeling.

"Come on Duke, lets go have Dinner, and then we'll go out one last time later on." She said bringing the dog inside. Nia took the elevator up to the third floor and began her walk down the hall. Before Nia got to her apartment she stopped dead in her tracks and Duke began snarling and growling once again...Derek had been sat in front of her apartment door, waiting.

"Hey baby...I've been waiting for you, you're late." Derek says with a grin.

"What do you want?"

"Just to talk..."
