"This day couldn't have come sooner..."

"Hey, you're going to get this order...you know you can trust me to tell the truth, and I know that you'll speak your truth..." Sebastian says holding Nia's hand tightly in his own.

"Thank you Sebastian...I'm more concerned abou-"

"NIA!"

"That..." Nia sighs as Derek's loud voice booms throughout the hallway of the courthouse.

"Are you kidding me right now? You really told on me...I spent all of Monday and Tuesday in a holding cell, I hope that makes you happy!" He yelled as Sebastian protectively stood in front of her.

"Don't you ever get tired of harassing her?" Sebastian asks slightly raising his voice at Derek.

"Derek...please not now..." Nia says.

"Mr. Boston...keep your voice down." His lawyer says to him. "Your track record with the plaintiff already isn't the best...I suggest you just let her be."

"I can't wait to expose you Nia Harris...just wait..." Derek grins as Sebastian wraps an arm around Nia and holds her tightly to his side.

"Sebastian..."

"Nia, it's going to be okay...you're getting that restraining order."

"Please rise." Says the Bailiff to the entire courtroom. Everyone stood and waited for further instruction. "The Court of the Second Judicial Circuit, Family law, is now in session, the Honorable Judge Stephany Matthews presiding."

"Everyone but the jury may be seated. Mr. Wilson please swear in the jury." Says judge Matthews.

"Please raise your right hand. Do you solemnly swear or affirm that you will truly listen to this case and render a true verdict and a fair sentence as to this defendant?"

"I do." Says the jury.

"Members of the jury, your duty today will be to determine whether the defendant is guilty or not guilty based only on facts and evidence provided in this case. The prosecution has the burden of proving the guilt of the defendant beyond a reasonable doubt. This burden remains on the prosecution through the trial. The prosecution must prove that a crime was committed and that the defendant is the person who committed the crime. However, if you are not satisfied of the defendant's guilt to that extent, then reasonable doubt exists and the defendant must be found not guilty." Says the judge.

"Mr. Wilson, what is today's case?" She asks.

"Your Honor, today's case is Ms. Nia Harris versus Mr. Derek Boston. Nia Harris has filed a restraining order against Mr. Boston for showing up to her apartment without an invitation, and Mr. Boston claims these allegations are false."

"Is the prosecution ready?" Asks the judge. Nia's attorney stood up and replied saying "Yes, Your Honor."

"Is the defense ready?" Asks judge Matthews. Derek's attorney stood up and replied saying "Yes, Your Honor." and took a seat.
~~~~~
"Prosecution, you may call the plaintiff."
"Thank you, your Honor. I call to the stand Ms. Nia Harris."
"Will the Plaintiff please stand to be sworn in by the bailiff." The judge says as Nia stands up.
"Ms. Harris Please raise your right hand." Nia put her right hand up and sighed. "Ms. Harris Do you swear to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth?"
