"Ms. Harris, Ms. Harris!" Nia heard her last name and sighed in relief when she saw that Sheriff Conway had made it to the courthouse.

"Sheriff Conway, Thank you so much for stopping by, I appreciate this." Nia says shaking the man's hand with gratitude.

"Absolutely Ms. Harris, anything to help keep that man away from you. How are things so far?"

"Well the first hour of court consisted of Derek and I getting a review of our rights and then the second hour was carved out for both of us to share our sides of the story. What sucks is that Derek has been blatantly lying, and until you came, I had no way of proving that he's been lying. After the 15 minute break period, we're due back in the courtroom, and I will be able to get out any more information I feel will support my case, and then I'll have an opportunity to call Sebastian up to the stand." She explains.

"Thats excellent." Says Sheriff Conway. "I'm going to give you the tape to give to the Bailiff so that the evidence can be used against Derek. As long as you have the evidence, you're guaranteed the restraining order."

"Thank you so much, I'll make sure my attorney gets this." Nia says sticking the tape in her purse.

"I'll be in the back watching." He said smiling as he left the two of them in the hallway.

"You're doing a great job Nia...everything is going to be okay..." Sebastian smoked cupping her face in his hands. "You got this...and most importantly I got you."

"Thank you Sebastian...You really have had my back through this craziness, and I appreciate you for that...I seriously don't know how to Thank you for being such a kind man." Nia says stroking the man's cheek with her thumb.

"Maybe after this is all over we can celebrate?" Seb asks.

"You know what...I would like that."

"Ms. Harris, do you have any witnesses you'd like to call upon for this next half?" The Bailiff asks shortly after Nia hands him the tape.

"Just Sebastian sir."

"Yes Ma'am." He says. Shortly after providing the Bailiff with her evidence, Nia and Sebastian along with the rest of the people in the courtroom had taken their seats and court was back in session.

"Prosecution, you may call your first witness."

"Thank you, your Honor." Says the prosecuting attorney "I call to the stand Sebastian Stan."

"Will the witness please stand to be sworn in by the bailiff." Says Judge Matthews.

"Please raise your right hand. Mr. Stan, do you swear to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth?" Asks the Bailiff.

"Yes, I do." Sebastian replies before going to the stand and sitting down.

"So Mr. Stan, Ms. Harris says that you were a key witness in the events that took place on June 4, 2018. Would you please share with the courtroom what you remember from that night?"

"Absolutely..." Sebastian says. "The time was about 7:30 at night and I was in my apartment cleaning up after dinner and I heard shouting in the hallway. People sometimes get loud in the halls at night so I figured at the moment that it wasn't something I should be concerned about until I actually listened. So before I decided to intervene and see what was happening, I'd recognized Nia's voice and moments later I had heard the dog barking and so of course I stepped out of my apartment to make sure Nia was alright and sure enough she wasn't."
