"Aww she looks so peaceful..." Nia said smiling down at her Niece sleeping in Lauryn's arms.
"I know, she's so used to sleeping in with Keith. If he wasn't on his business trip she would still be in bed. I really appreciate you for taking her while I do this 12..." Lauryn said hugging Nia. "I know it's your only day off and all..."
"Oh please, I wouldn't mind spending it with my Niece." Nia says smiling.
"Okay so Leanna's feeding schedule is a little funky now that she's older. Whenever she wakes up she Has oatmeal for breakfast..."
"Okay bet, I'll make sure she gets that." Nia says with a nod.
"I've been working on cutting out a bottle, so I've only been giving her two bottles a day," Lauryn explains.
"I also stopped the night feedings with her but sometimes I'll give her a third one at night if she gets crazy, so she can have a bottle at 10am and 2pm. I also have her on finger foods now, so for lunch I packed her cut up Strawberries and bananas, and macaroni and cheese. I made sure to pack enough of everything in her diaper bag and I made sure to throw in her portable high chair and her nap mat...That's pretty much it, I know you know what to do so I'm not worried about her." Lauryn smiled squishing Leanna's cheeks together.
"If you need anything just call, I'm sure you and Lele will be okay though." Lauryn says as she places Leanna in Nia's arms and sets up her nap mat on the floor so that Nia could lay her down. Shortly after, Nia showed her older sister to the door.
"She's in good hands Lauryn, I'll see you later sis, love you!" She whispers hugging Lauryn before she leaves.
"Thanks Nia! I get done at 6ish so I should be back to get her around 7..."
"You want me to feed her dinner?"
"You don't have to..." Lauryn replies.
"Well what kind of Auntie would I be if I didn't feed my baby dinner? I got her Laur, don't worry about getting her dinner tonight. I'll send a plate home for you too." Nia says.
"Thanks Nia, you're truly a gem. I'll see you later." Lauryn says before leaving Nia's apartment.
Nia went and put Leanna's bottles and foods in her refrigerator and decided to sit on the couch and close her eyes so she could get some rest in before Leanna could wake up. ~~~~~ 8:37 AM ~~~~~
Nia shot up off the couch, the sound of Leanna's screams filling the room. Nia sighed when she'd seen Duke had decided to walk up and lick the baby right in her face which made Nia cringe.
"Duke, no...leave her alone." Nia says taking Leanna into her arms. "Alright honey, that's enough." She said to the baby, taking her to the kitchen to wipe her face with a wet paper towel.
