Two minutes after Nia's alarm went off, she finally found it in her to get up and make herself some breakfast. Her head was spinning and she just felt...off. She couldn't quite put her finger on it, but something just didn't feel right.

Nia ran to the kitchen with a quickness and got to heating up pans right away so she could make bacon and eggs. As soon as she put the raw bacon on the pan, smoke slowly started to erupt from the pan causing them smell of bacon to permeate throughout the room.

As soon as the bacon smell hit Nia's nostrils, she felt the bile start to rise in her throat and immediately made a run for the bathroom and just barely made it to the toilet in enough time. It wasn't like she had anything left to vomit anyway, she had already been up at 5am vomiting up her dinner.

"Oh shit...I have to have some kind of stomach bug..." she says to herself. She got up and dug through the medicine cabinet for her oral thermometer and checked her temperature.

"97.8...Well shit then that can't be it..." Nia says with a sigh. Not even a full second later Nia felt her Apple Watch vibrate on her wrist indicating she had gotten a text message. It was from Celeste, no shocker there.

C- Lol you thought I forgot didn't you?

Nia sighed and decided to check her app that told Usually notified her when her cycle was due and nearly dropped her phone on the floor.

Once the app was fully opened up, the Calendar was able to show Nia that she was due on Sunday...she was almost 4 days late.

C- ☕️ 👶🏽

N- Girl relax, I'm having bloating and spotting again so maybe today will be the day!

C- We'll see about that😉
C- I'll catch you at work.

"Oh boy, I can't wait to hear the end of this...Oh wait that's right, I won't be hearing the end of this." Nia says with a sigh before going back to finish cooking her meal.

Seeing as Nia was already running late due to a couple of setbacks on the ride to work, she was quick to pull into her spot in the parking garage and make a beeline towards the sliding glass doors which lead her to the entry way of her wing of the hospital.

Aside from being late to work, Nia was also trying to make it a point to avoid running into Celeste. Nia just knew that if she saw Celeste she would be bombarded with more questions that she just didn't feel like answering at that time of the morning. Lucky for Nia, Celeste was no where to be found between the ground floor and the NICU, so she was in the clear until her lunch hour of course.

Nia headed to the staff lounge to put her things in her locker when her phone buzzed, and little to her surprise, she received a text from Sebastian.
The text ID read "Sebastian😋🔥" and she smiled as she opened up the message.
