They just stood there. The couldn't speak, they couldn't move. It felt like the world had stopped. The time had stopped.

Ezra's cries stuck on his throat, he couldn't believe it, after all these months, after everything he had been trough...

"Kanan?"

Ezra's voice set Kanan into motion. He sank on his knees and gathered Ezra up on his arms. Hera and Sabine fell on the floor as well hugging both of them. Kanan was sure, from the injuries he could see on Ezra, that holding him like that was causing Ezra physical pain, but the kid didn't seem to mind. He was trembling hard on Kanan's arms and was holding Kanan incredibly tight. He had buried his head in Kanan's neck and he was smiling so big, sobbing and crying at the same time.

Kanan couldn't take it anymore. He unblocked the bond and suddenly they were overwhelmed with each other's feelings. They could see one another so clearly and they knew exactly how the other was feeling.

Ezra cried out the moment the bond opened and held it as if his life depended on it. He closed his eyes as he felt the warmth of Kanan's presence in the force wrapping around him, inside out. He could feel Kanan's guilt for leaving him here, his worry for Ezra's well being and his love and affection towards Ezra radiating off him.

"I'm sorry, I'm so sorry Ezra. This is all my fault, I wanted to help you, I wanted to make you happy, I wanted you to be happy, but now..." Kanan said as he placed his head over Ezra's.

Ezra simply held on tighter. He wanted to reassure Kanan, he wanted to tell him that he wasn't the one to blame, that he got himself in this situation. He had so much and he was ungrateful, he ignored all the love his family gave him and chose to only acknowledge his own pain, and now he was paying the price. The only thing that came out though we're sobs.

Hera tightened her grip around everone. She had a death grip on Ezra and a protective arm around Kanan and Sabine. She wished Zeb and Choper were here, so that the family hug would be complete.

Ezra was holding on Kanan as if his life depended on it. Wait, Kanan! He remembered what he was supposed to do.

"Kanan, we need to leave" Ezra tried to say his voice breaking and his throat sore from all the screaming of the last couple of months.

Kanan nodded. Hera and Sabine let go and Ezra whimpered at the loss of warmth. Kanan seeing and feeling that held Ezra closer. Ezra was hurting, a lot, and Kanan could sense it. But, he could also sense how eager Ezra was for physical contact, how scared he was of Kanan letting go. So he didn't. Kanan got up with Ezra on his arms. Ezra too tired to say or do anything else he allows himself to close his eyes and go limp in Kanan's strong arms. He was safe now, he was with his family and he was going home.

"You're not going anywhere!" Ezra's eyes fluttered open and widened as he heard the voice.

Kanan, Sabine and Hera turned around to see doctor Lee standing in front of the elevator three nurses and two doctors with a black patch on their uniforms behind him.

"You! You monster. Look what you did to him!" Hera said, shades of red were visible in her green skin as she stared hatefully at the doctor.

"I can see and I can assure you I enjoyed every second of it"

Kanan growled. His expression was even more hateful than Hera's. Ezra couldn't speak, his mind was screaming. He had failed, his friends had fallen right into the doctor's trap.

"Hera? Take Ezra" he heard Kanan growl under his teeth. His heart froze as he felt Kanan pass him down to Hera. Hera could hold him with ease, thanks to how starved he was, but Ezra was terrified.

"Kanan-" Hera started terrified herself. Kanan was never like that. Kanan jumped to doctor Lee tackling him down and started punching all over. The doctors tried to drug him away from doctor Lee as the nurses went for Hera, Sabine and Ezra. Sabine started fighting with one of the nurses while the other two went for Hera. They pushed her back and she dropped Ezra.

Ezra let out a yelp as he touched the ground, Hera gasped and went to help him but the other nurse grabbed her so hard she couldn't move.

The third nurse picked Ezra up and made a run for the elevator.

"Kanan!" Ezra shouted desperately.

"No!" Kanan tried to get to Ezra but the two doctors got a hold of both his arms and held him back. He tried to throw them away by using the force but nothing happened.

He tried again. Nothing. Kanan started panicking frantically trying to free himself from their hold. Kanan's panic turned into genuine fear as the nurse holding Ezra made it to the elevator.

Everything was falling apart. As the nurse made it to the elevator, Ezra got to get one last glimpse of his friends. Sabine was held against the wall, Hera on a suffocating hug and Kanan held as a prisoner by two doctors, looking pleadingly at Ezra. Ezra could feel his worry, his fear and his love bleeding through the force.

And then, the doors closed...

This one is smaller than the others but extra emotional so... May the force be with you? Look, I literally started writing this yesterday at 4 a.m. Cut me some slack.
