"Okay" Zeb said pacing. "We have to find a way to reach the others"

"Let's shoot the hospital and search the ruins!" Choper said in binary.

"Okay, I don't really speak binary very well but I got the words 'shoot', 'hospital' and 'ruins'"

"That is the plan you idiot!"

"Then no!"

"Ugh fine. I distract them, you sneak in, we save everyone, I get an oil bath" Choper said as simply as he could so Zeb would understand.

"We are doing this for the others and the kid, not for you to have an oil bath"

Zeb said picking his rifle.

"Yeah, you keep telling yourself that"

Zeb growled as Choper landed the ship a few kilometers away from the hospital.

"Okay, what are you going to do?"

"What do you mean?"

"How the hell will ya distract the whole hospital"

Choper made a sound like laughter.

"I'll just be myself. It usually makes people quit everything they're doing so they can chase me or throw objects at me"

"Uhhhh" If Choper could facepalm he would. Of course that small minded Lasat doesn't understand the simplest of binary.

He tried again, more simple and way slower.

"Me annoying, people will want to kill me"

The Lasat shrugged .

"Fair enough!"

"It all began when I was a little boy. I lived in a planet far away from here, I'd tell you it's name but no one in this region can actually pronounce it"

Kanan tightened his grip around Hera and made sure Sabine was close to him.

"Even at an early age I had developed a great interest in psychology. Especially the behavior of living being while in pain. I used to capture insects and small birds and study their reactions to torture. I even kept a notebook where I recorded my findings"

"So you were always a psychopath" Sabine said angrily. She felt Kanan's hand on her shoulder. She looked up to him and she understood his request.

Don't challenge him. I don't want him to hurt you too.

She nodded and they both turned to glare at the doctor who cleared his throat, annoyance written all over his face.

"Miss Wren, if you prefer we can continue this story in...private" The way he said it. It was clearly a warning. The three of the knew exactly what he meant by 'private'. Kanan felt his heart ache at the thought that Ezra had to deal with him for so many months.

"One day though" the doctor continued "I decided to share my findings with my dear parents" the pure hate in his voice almost scared them. His voice had turned dark, heavy and almost unnatural.

"I thought they'd be proud but do you know what they did instead?"

He laughed. A lot. Too much. Too loud.

Kanan hadn't felt so genuine and uncontrollable fear since...well, it was a long time ago (order 66). He felt something warm and unsteady cover his hand. Hera had a shaking hand on his. Whatever was injected to her seemed to be wearing off. With her eyes she motioned for Kanan to look at her shoulder.
