Anira...
I was running only on dedication. Dedicated to save Merry and Pippin from the cold-blooded grasp of those horrid creatures. I don't know how far ahead these Orc mutants were but we needed to catch them, quickly. We can not let Merry and Pippin remain in the clutches of those vicious beings. We can not afford to lose any more of the Fellowship. Day had turned into night, I wasn't paying attention to it I was only concentrating on finding my hobbits. We've been running all day, Gimli felt ready to collapse at any moment, that is why I stayed close to him.
After two days with no rest and no food I still was filled with dedication on finding Merry and Pippin. I was uneasy for a while because there has been no progress in finding Merry and Pippin, no tracks, not any sign that they were here, nothing. But I trusted Aragorn, I know he wouldn't lead us astray or give us false hope.
I looked at Aragorn seeing him drop to the ground and place his ear against a rock. He remained in that position before lifting his head. "Their pace has quickened. They must have caught our scent." He said
Aragorn leapt to his feet. "Hurry!" He called to us.
I immediately ran after Aragorn up a small hill. I pushed myself so that I could catch up with Aragorn. Legolas was behind me just a little bit. He turned around to face Gimli.
"Come, Gimli!" He called encouragingly.
"Three days and nights pursuit." Gimli grumbled. "No rest. No sign of our quarry, but what bare rock can tell."
We found ourselves running down a hill. The ground became easier to run on now, it became less rocky and favor a grassland. We ran for a little longer passing through an area enclosed by small rocks.
Aragorn bent down on one knee picking up something off of the ground studying it keenly. "Not idly do the leaves of Lorien fall."
My lips formed a small smirk. Merry or Pippin had to have dropped that to give us a sign. The sign filled me with more hope.
"They may yet be alive." Legolas said.
"How far ahead are they?" I asked Aragorn.
"Less than a day ahead of us," he said. He stood up back on his feet and started to run. "Come!"
Legolas and I quickly took off after him. Finding the brooch had filled me with new hope.
"Come, Gimli!" Legolas yelled. "We're gaining on them!"
Gimli started to grumble behind us. "I'm wasted on cross-country! We Dwarves are natural sprinters. Very dangerous over short distances!" I muffled a laugh and shared a look with Legolas.
We ran out of the enclosed are and ran to an area that had an open ground. Soon we had to run up a small, rocky hill. The view was beautiful. Gimli had caught up with us for his heavy breathing was loud in the air. My eyes reminded focused on the view.
"What is this place?" I whispered.
"This is Rohan, home of the Horse-Lords." Aragorn told me. There was silence until Aragorn spoke again. "There's something strange at work here. Some evil gives speed to these creatures. Sets its will against us."
"Legolas! What do your Elf-eyes see?" Aragorn called
Legolas stared over the grasslands for a moment. "The Uruks turn northeast!" He told Aragorn. "They're taking the Hobbits to Isengard!"
My eyes widened as I looked to Aragorn who was in a daze. "Saruman." He whispered, dumbstruck.
I felt spa spark of fear within me. I haven't meet Saruman nor do I want to. He tried to bring down the mountain at The Pass of Caradhras. And like the Orc said he requested my presence.
