Anira...
After deciding to go to The Mines of Moria I couldn't stop thinking about the mysterious voice in my head. The voice sounded exactly like my mother, as if she was speaking to me, directly. I never had a voice speak to me in my head before. It was strange. We continued to walk, the ground became easier to walk on. There was no snow to slip nor trudge on. It grew dark--very dark, I couldn't find the moon, it was no where in sight. The moon would have helped us find our way. I began to wonder what The Mines of Moria were like.
"Ah! The Walls of Moria!" Gimli exclaimed, he portrayed The Walls of Moria in awe.
What I saw before me had me in awe as well. In front of us were cliff walls, that were tall and imposing. They stretched for miles above us and extended on both sides. We all stood in silence as we stared at the Walls of Moria.
"Dwarf doors are invisible when closed." Gimli said tapping his on axe on rock
"Yes Gimli. Their own masters cannot find them, if their secrets are forgotten." Gandalf said
"Why doesn't that surprise me." Legolas said. Gimli let out a growl under his breath. I playfully hit Legolas on the shoulder.
Gandalf stops and rubs his hand over a smooth part of the wall. "Ah, now let me see, Ithildin." His hands brush away the dirt to reveal patterns in the stone. "It mirrors only starlight." He looks up to see the clouds move away from the moon. "And moonlight."
As he speaks the patterning on the door shines brightly revealing an ornate door, with elvish writing above it on the arch. Gimli looks in awe. Gandalf points at the writing with his staff.
"It reads 'The Doors of Durin, Lord of Moria, Speak Friend and Enter'."
"What do you suppose that means?" Merry said
"Oh it's quite simple. If you are a friend, you speak the password and the doors will open." He turns back to the door and holds his staff against the star in the center of it. "Annon Edhellen, edro hi ammen!" Nothing happened and Gandalf began speaking to the door again. "Fennas Nogothrim, lasto beth lammen." Still nothing
"Nothing's happening." Pippin said to me.
"Don't worry Gandalf is very wise he will figure this out."
Gandalf walks up to the door and tries to push it. "I once knew every spell in all the tongues of elves, men and orcs."
"What're you going to do then?" Pippin questioned Gandalf
"Knock your head against these doors Peregrin Took! And if that does not shatter them and I'm allowed a little peace from foolish questions I will try to find the opening words."
Pippin looked a bit hurt by Gandalf's words, I went over and kissed him on his forehead. "It's love." He started to blush when I kissed him on the head.
We sat down waiting for Gandalf to come up with the correct words. I climbed on a tall rock and sat down patiently waiting. Aragorn is helping Sam remove the baggage from Bill the Pony.
"The Mines are no place for a pony even one so brave as Bill."
"Good bye Bill."
"Go on, go on." Aragorn gives him a push. "Don't worry Sam. He knows the way home." Sam looks concerned and Bill walks away.
"You are very quiet, Princess Anira." Legolas said standing next to me.
"You are as well, Prince Legolas."
