Carl comes up onto the tower and I worry about it's stability. The group of skin heads are surrounding the reinforcement of the front gates.
I try to find Connie but I can't get eyes on her. Kelly stands beside me, "Here," I say as I hand Kelly a pair of binoculars.
"Our community is more than capable of defending itself!" Tara calls down to the group, "I show you my face because we mean you no harm," Alpha calls back.
"I just want my daughter. I know that you have her," she says. "You should turn around. Leave now and no one gets hurt," Daryl tells her. "Do we have the ammo?" I ask, he shakes his head.
It's just a bold lie. I grab his hand.
"Wrong answer," Alpha says, she raises her hand above her head, more skinheads and real walkers come into view.
Connie is still down there, "Can you see her?" I ask Kelly, "She's in the corn, safe for now," she says. Now there are at least two dozen skinheads in the fields.
"They don't see her," Kelly says to the group, "At least not yet."
"That girl told me what her mom does to her," Daryl says. "We can't send her back to that," he says. "But if she has Alden and Luke, pissing her off could get them killed," Tara says.
"Did you kill our friends?" Magna yells over the wall, "We found their horses." Alpha is quiet for a moment, "No. Your friends are safe. Now, which one of you leads these people?" the woman asks.
"The hells it matter?" Daryl asks, him and Tara have been working together to figure this out, to try and protect this place without Jesus being well enough to help.
"Then I'll just address all of you," Alpha says. "Your people crossed into our land, there will be no conflict, your people killed our people. There will be no conflict."
"Now I am done talkin'," she yells, "Bring me my daughter, or there will be conflict," she says.
Daryl is protective of kids, anyone he feels that needs protection, "No one touches the girl," he says before walking toward the ladder. "Daddy wait," I say as I go after him.
As soon as my feet hit the grass I'm bombarded with questions that Daryl is ignoring.
"Do they have Alden?" Enid asks when we get to the ground. "I don't know," I say to my friend, she looks more upset than she did.
"What do they want?" Henry asks Daryl. The man doesn't talk, "No you can't," Henry says, "Daryl we can't."
"She says she's done talkin', I'm not," Daryl says as he motions for the guys to open up the gate.
"No one follows me," he says to Cal and Greg. I go to follow him out the door. "Elaine," Enid says as she grabs me. "Let him go, he'll work it out," she says.
I take a deep breath before rushing back up to the tower. Two skinheads leave the group and walk toward the cornfield. Toward Connie.
I see something that makes me want to puke, I grab the binoculars from Kelly, "What is it?" she asks. I point the device toward skinhead that is holding something.
I gasp when I get a clear view of what it is, "They have a baby, no more than six months old," I say. The baby begins to cry.
Tara sighs as she pinches the bridge of her nose. The two skinheads that left come back with two more people in walker skin masks, "Alden and Luke," I say as they pull them to a stop.
Each of the men has a knife to their throat. Alpha and Daryl are still talking. I shake my head before I leave the watchtower, "Where are you going?" Carl asks, "To get the girl," I say.
