I sit down on the couch, "Julia, come here," I say. The girl gets up from her spot at the kitchen table. "Yes mommy," she says as she walks over to me. I pick her up and sit her in my lap, "You did something that could've ended up badly," I say. Julia nods, "What did I do?" she asks. "When you ran to me. Past the new people," I say.

"New people can be dangerous, more dangerous than walkers or monsters or wild animals. I want you to promise me that you'll stay away from them," I tell her, "If I had lost you it would've killed me."

Julia pulls at the hem of her flower printed nightgown, "But what if they're nice?" she asks. I sigh, "People are capable of anything," I say to her, "Some would hurt you to get what they want," I say to her. Julia frowns, "That's not nice," she says, "Not everything is," I say.

"Do you want me to braid your hair for tomorrow?" I ask, she shakes her head making her red curls bounce every which way.

"Nope I like when it's not up I look like you then," she says. "Yeah it does make you look like me," I say. Her skin is lighter than Sasha's was but not nearly as pale as her father's. "Come on then pumpkin," I say as I stand, I read her a story like always before tucking her in tightly.

I walk over to the window, I make sure it's locked before drawing the curtains closed. I go to Carl and I's shared room I pull on a pair of shorts with flamingos printed on them. I hear Carl doing something downstairs. I finish getting dressed before I brush my teeth and hair.

I go to Julia's room, Carl is sitting on the floor next to Julia's bed. She's asleep, I sit next to him.

Carl turns his head to look at me, I lean against him. "I want them to be able to stay. Kelly is really nice and Connie is amazing, Luke's talkative," I whisper.

"You went to see them after you checked out Yumiko didn't you," he asks. I nod, "They want to stay, they're trying," I say. "You know that mom will just veto it," Carl says, "I know, she's in charge of the council no matter how you look at it," I mutter.

"Gabriel and I made it so she could veto something if she saw it as a security risk. We didn't think she'd undermine everything," Carl says. "I know," I say.

"She's getting so big," I whisper. "She's perfect," Carl says, "But I wouldn't be opposed if we really started trying again."

It's been a while since we actually tried to have a baby now we haven't been trying but if it happens it happens.

I sigh, "I'm not opposed either, but now I have to talk with Mika," I say, "I can't promise that I won't be asleep when you get to bed," he says as we walk out.

I go to Mika's room and he goes to ours, I knock gently on the door. The girl is silent for a while, I knock again.

"Mik, I'm sorry about this morning," I say. I hear some shuffling before the door opens, "You know I love you no matter what right?" I whisper. "I know, it's just scary when your different," she whispers.

"Sweetheart you've been living with two lesbians for most of your life," I tell her. She gasps, "Wait Carl's a girl," she says with a laugh. I laugh too, "No I meant aunt Rosita and Tara," I say. Mika bites her lip, "What if Tara never comes back?" Mika asks.

"She'll come back soon, she won't stay away from the twins for too long," I say. "Will Michonne let her back?" Mika asks, "She is our family," I whisper as I hug her. "Go to bed, tomorrow is your last day of school," I say.

"I'm excited," she says. I kiss her forehead, "Goodnight," I say. I walk to my bedroom now, "Come here," Carl says as he grabs me. He pulls me down onto the bed, I press my lips to his.

His hands move to my hair, he takes out the painted chopsticks I use to keep it up. My hair tumbles down around my shoulders.

Carl smirks before he pulls my shirt over my head. My red locks fall around my face and over my body, it hasn't been cut for almost five years and it's already past the apple of my butt. Next my pants come off, I lean down to kiss him.

Our lips mold together as I grind down onto his growing member. I jump when I hear a door shut downstairs, "Shit," I whisper as I get off of him. I pull on one of Carl's large shirts. He grabs my silk robe from the back of the door.

I grab Carl's gun from the nightstand, it used to be Rick's. I slowly move out into the hallway, Carl follows me out with his knife. "Where are your weapons?" Carl asks, "Downstairs," I whisper back.

"Shit," he mutters back to me, "It might be one of the new people." I shake my head and go the rest of the way down the stairs. I see two shadows in the moonlight leaking in through the window.

"Stop or I'll shoot," I say. Carl takes a step forward, "Jeeze!" Mika yells as Carl grabs her, "I was just taking Alya home," she says.

"Go to bed, I'll take her home," Carl says. I sigh, "Mika, why would you do that, I almost shot you," I say as she turns to me.

"Momma what's going on?" Julia asks from the top of the stairs, "Nothing," I say as I push Mika toward the stairs. I pick up Julia as I get to the landing.

She cuddles against my shoulder. I lay her down in bed and pull the blankets over her, "Night Pumpkin," I whisper as I place a kiss to her forehead.

"Night momma," she says. I leave the room, I watch as Mika goes into her room. I walk into my room. I flop down onto the bed.

"It's past bedtime," I mutter to myself. I roll onto my stomach and curl into a pillow. I drift off for about ten minutes before I feel Carl lay down beside me.

He sidles up against my back, "What did Rosie say about your attire?" I ask, Carl chuckles, "She didn't mention it," says. I cuddle against him, "Night," he grumbles. "Night," I whisper back.
