Like Magic affinity, magic capacity can also be inherited.
If parents have high magic capacity, it is likely that their offspring will also have a high magic capacity and vice versa.
It was a mildly weathered Saturday morning but Racheal was already up and busy.
She was worried about both Micah and Enid.
For the past few days, their moods had been sullen.
"Racheal!" A tiny voice startled Racheal from her thoughts.
Alice was jogging up to her in a hurry.
"I need you to help serve the royal family. The branch family is still around and Penny is ill today."
Before Racheal could protest, Alice had shoved some plates in her hands and pushed her towards the dining.
She had never encountered any of the Royal family apart from Micah and his little sister Doria who was pleasant enough but a little too docile for royalty.
There was no one in the dining yet apart from the maids setting the table.
Racheal sighed in relief as she set the plates down in front of each chair, taking time to admire the room.
"Aria dear! It's not time for breakfast yet." She heard a voice call out from the corridors before a tiny girl sprinted into the room.
Following her closely was a graceful, fairskinned woman with black wild hair flowing behind her.
She looked like wild beauty and pristine charm at the same time.
All the maids curtsied, but she paid them no mind as she chased after the little girl.
Racheal froze.
That ethereal beauty.
Apart from the slight droop of her pale brown eyes, she looked dangerously like Enid.
The young girl also sported a pair of green eye which only served to make Racheal more uneasy.
The woman finally caught up with the girl and swooped her out of the room.
Racheal still stood transfixed, staring at the door they left from, until a maid tapped her.
"What are you doing? It's almost time for breakfast."
"Who was that?" Racheal asked the maid.
"The woman who just left? That's Himiko Manderin; wife of Aaron Manderin who is the head of the branch family."
Racheal remembered the unwillingness of Enid to go along with Micah with the branch family.
She managed to set all the plates and when she was done, she hurried to her room where Enid was playing with a dead toad.
Racheal was used to seeing Enid playing with dead animals so it did not bother her.
"Enid...do you know who your parents are?" She asked trying to act as normal as possible.
Enid looked up to her confused.
"You are of course."
Racheal sat on the floor in front of Enid and picked the leaves off her hair.
"I mean the people who gave birth to you."
Enid shook her head looking even more confused.
"Why don't you want to go to the castle in the North with Micah."
Enid looked down at her toad as she poked it.
"I dunno...doesn't feel right."
Racheal took a deep breath and looked up at the ceiling.
