The most common type of magic differ from kingdom or kingdom. In Manderin; the most common type of magic is air magic and all it's variants.
The moon hung solemnly in a sky devoid of stars.
Enid could barely see where she was going but she still ran; despite the burning of her lungs and the dull ache of her feet.
If anything, the pain made her run even faster.
The rows of houses and concrete paved streets had given way to intimidating trees and shrubs.
She felt a sharp pain in the sole of her left leg and the sudden anguish made her trip.
A twig had pierced her foot.
She cursed under her breath, using the opportunity to observe her surroundings.
She was surprised when she realized that she recognized the path. It led to the abandoned temple.
She struggled to sit up, to take a look at the damage done to her leg.
The twig was embedded deep into her foot.
To remove it meant severe blood loss which she could not afford till she found shelter.
"I guess I'm going to have to hop to the temple," she said to herself, having a deep sigh.
She suddenly felt a wave of sadness. What she wanted most of all at that moment was to see Racheal's face.
She shook her head, trying to clear up her thoughts.
She pushed herself up with one leg and hopped towards the temple which wasn't too far away.
...
Racheal sat behind the palace in the courtyard, staring at Aria's progress report.
Currently, she was trying to stop objects in motion which proved more difficult than the child had originally thought.
It was obvious that she had immense power but her method of thoughtlessly pushing out magic in order to move things did not work when trying to precisely trying to stop an object.
In the end, Racheal had her practice controlling her magic into a focal point by giving her the 'magic in a jar exercise'.
It was simple enough in theory; try to push your magic through the hole of the jar.
If the area of your magic was greater than the area of the hole, the jar would crack.
The child had succeeded in breaking 32 jars and had to call it a day when a maid informed her that there were no more empty jars in the castle.
The look on Aria's face as she struggled amused Racheal. She had probably never struggled with anything in her life.
Racheal thought that the feeling of frustration would do her good.
Even if one had talent; hard work was still important.
As she stared at the report, Racheal could not help but think of Enid.
She had, had a feeling sunk deep in her gut since the sun went down and it hadn't gone away.
She looked up when she heard footsteps walking towards her.
She was mildly stunned to see Hyde before her.
Unlike his signature pink apron and broom, he had on a white jacket with the Phoenix insignia and the number 5 embroidered on top a plain button shirt and some pants.
It was the first time she had seen him since she arrived.
She was told that he had been on a mission.
He had a blank look on his face, but his eyes had the 'what the hell are you doing here' gleam that Racheal was used to.
"Hyde! For a moment, I thought you were actively avoiding me," she teased.
"I thought that I had finally succeeded in getting rid of you when I took this job," he said sitting beside her with a heavy sigh.
Racheal noticed that he had bags under his eyes.
