If both claimants of the throne decide to duel; the first born and heir will choose what kind of duel they are to engage in and where it would be fought.

Duel is used liberally in the law as it does not have to be actually fighting.

Morning came quickly and Rachael was a bit sad to get off the chair she slept on.
Micah was still in front of her, still sound asleep.
He slept so quietly that Rachael had to check if he was still alive.

The gentle rise of his chest and the slight part of his lips was too much for Rachael as she quickly sprinted to check up on Avery, with her eyes burning red.

Unlike her brother, Avery's breathing was laboured and uneven. Her eyes were shut too tightly and she clenched her beddings like her life depended on it.

She looked troubled, even in slumber.
Rachael stroked her head, not knowing what to do to make her feel better.

Avery's eyes opened as she stared at the ceiling in a daze; trying to figure out where she was.

"Good morning,"
She turned to Rachael who she just noticed.

"Have you found Enid?"
Rachael could
not help but smile.

"Could you think about yourself just a little bit?"

"I always think about myself."

"Except when it really counts."

Avery looked away, ugly feelings settling in again.

"If you're so calm then Enid's fine...I'm sorry I lost her."

"It wasn't your fault," Rachael replied, her hand still on her head.

Avery snorted.

"Stop being so nice to me, it's sickening."

Rachael raised her hands in surrender.

"At least you're still as snappy as usual."

Avery was about to retort when Micah hurried into the room.

"Rachael, you should have woken me up. How are you feeling?" He said turning to Avery who groaned.

"You're even worse than she is, I'm not dying," she said, struggling to get up.

Avery never had a stocky frame, but her healthy glow had vanished and her skin now barely covered her bones.
Rachael could not imagine what the prince had done to emaciate her so badly.

Micah sat on a low wooden stool besides Avery's bed and held her hands. He took a deep breath before he spoke.

"I'm going to call the council, to take down Alexander as heir to the throne."

Shocked,Avery tried to withdraw her hands but Micah firmly held onto them.

"If he becomes king,Manderin will suffer."
