Jon pulled into the parking lot of the Hilton and helped me with my bags. We walked together and checked in. He was standing next to me, leaning on the counter and smiling at me. I loved his smile so much. I couldn't help but remember the first time we met each other in 1st period English. He practically ignored me. It wasn't until lunch that he came over and talked to me. I was instantly hooked on him that day.
"Here's your key Miss."
The man behind the counter broke my thoughts. I smiled and took the key card from him and turned to walk away
"Hey, can you make me a key too?"
I smirked and blushed before turning around with a straight face. I couldn't imagine why he wanted or needed a key to my room, but I wasn't going to stop him from doing it either
"Excuse me. How would your fiance feel about you obtaining a key to your female best friends hotel room. Oh did I say best friend? I mean your ex girlfriend who also just happens to be your best friend."
"What Julia doesn't know won't hurt her."
My heart skipped a beat a little bit, but I kept my composure. The man handed Jon the key and we headed towards the elevator. We stepped on and stood on opposite sides of the cart from each other. He looked amazing. He obviously had leaned out a bit. His voice was rougher from all those years of smoking. His hair fell slightly in front of his face and he needed s shave, but I loved that about him. I shyly looked down and glanced at him. He smirked at me but never said a word
"So Jon. You talk about me, but you've never mentioned Julia to me. In fact you haven't talked to me in years..."
"I know. I'm sorry. I thought that maybe you never wanted to talk to me again after the way I left."
"Oh you mean when you ruthlessly slept with me and left me a note on the pillow? How romantic of you Jon."
"You've become really bitter Maddy. Your job is stressing you out. I can tell."
"It's not my job."
The doors slowly opened and we exited and went down the hall to my room. I pushed open the door and looked around. Oh good the mini bar is fully stocked. I wheeled my bag into the bedroom and turned around to see Jon standing unusually close behind me. He smirked and grabbed my hips pulling me close. It took me by surprise at first and I looked up at him and smiled. I had waited years to be this close to him again. He leaned towards me and I closed my eyes. I could feel his breath close and I was dying for him to stop dragging it out and just kiss me. Suddenly he quickly kissed my cheek and laughed as he pulled away.
"You fucking asshole"
Laughing: "Oh Maddy come on. I'm engaged. You really think I'd be able to do that to Julia?"
"Get out Jon. My God. That was such a fucking asshole thing to do."
"I was just checking to see if you were still in love with me and whether or not that boyfriend story was bullshit."
"Please leave. I'll call you later. I've had a long trip and this bullshit game you just played is upsetting."
He chuckled and gave me a quick friendly hug "Alright Madison we'll talk later"
He left the room and I threw myself on the bed. God what a fucking prick. I took a deep breath and blew it out trying not to cry. Boyfriend is bullshit my ass. I'll show you. I grabbed my phone and started dialing
"Hey Danny....can we talk?"
