Bad Breakfast

I smiled hearing the steady beat of his heart echoing in my ears. It was comforting and made me feel safe. I always felt so safe with Jon. I was never going to be able to repay him for what he's done to help us. He's always been there to protect me, but I was scared. Rick is very influential and powerful around here and he beat him up pretty bad. I didn't want Jon to end up arrested or in jail or something.

He stirred slightly and pulled me closer nuzzling my hair. I grinned and chuckled to myself. I couldn't wait for him to really get to know Carly and spend time with her. I sighed and got lost in thought lightly tracing along his chest with my finger. I couldn't sleep even if I wanted to. There was so much running through my head. Jon laughed lightly and took my hand and looked down at me

"Hey." He whispered

"Hi. Sorry if I woke you up. I didn't mean to."

"It's alright." He stretched, "what time is it?"

"I dunno. 3 something."

"Couldn't sleep?"

I shook my head and half smiled

"Not even with me holding you? That's a first."

"I just have a lot on my mind. I love when you hold me like this. I always have you know that."

JON's POV

I shifted and pulled away and propped myself on my elbow watching her. She pout and stuck out her lip because I moved. I chuckled and caressed her cheek softly

"Don't pout! It is adorable though."

She giggled quietly and looked over at Carly across the room before turning back and smiled up at me.

"You both are going to be fine. You know that right? I'd do anything to keep you both safe." I half smiled and sighed deeply, "I'm sorry Maddy."

"Sorry for what?" She questioned puzzled

"For all of the years I spent hurting you and....everything."

"Jon, don't. It's OK...."

"No Madison it's not." I sighed "I should have called the wedding off after we slept together. I wanted you. I was in love with you, but I loved Julia too and I couldn't hurt her. But I should've because in the end I ended up abandoning, destroying and hurting the one who was really in my heart. My soulmate and my everything. I hate that what I did hurt you so deeply that you ended up with him...."

She put her finger to my lips and searched my eyes as tears fell from hers. I gently wiped her tears and leaned down kissing her softly. Maddy pulled away and hugged me tight. I smiled and hugged her back closing my eyes. She had so much running through her mind and I knew none of this was easy for her. I knew it was going to be a long time before the real Madison came back.

"Jon?" She mumbled

I pulled her back and smiled raising her chin to look at me. I loved her beautiful green eyes

"Please..."

"Please what?"

"Please don't leave me again. I don't want to lose you. You're all I've ever wanted."

I grinned and caressed her cheek softly

"I'm scared..."

"You have nothing to be scared of anymore Maddy. I'm here..."

"What if Rick presses charges or comes after you or..."

"Shhh that's for me to worry about. Just try to relax and calm down."
