Rehearsal Nightmare

I quietly opened the door to my apartment and snuck in trying not to wake Julia. I set my keys on the bar and flopped down on the couch. Fuck! I muttered back handing the space next to me, running my fingers through my hair and sitting back with my head back. I thought asking Madison out here was going to be a good thing, but now I'm convinced that it wasn't. I couldn't get her out of my head. I couldn't let her go. I loved Julia, but I loved Madison. In fact, I loved Madison more. But it was too late. I'm two days away from getting married and...it was just a mess.

"Jon?"

I looked over and saw Julia standing in the hallway wearing one of my shirts. She looked adorable as always. I smiled at her and pat the space next to me. She sleepily walked over and sat down, cuddling close and put her head on my chest. I wrapped my arms around her, kissing her head and holding her close.

"Jon?"

"Hmm?"

"I was thinking about asking Maddy to come to the rehearsal and luncheon with our families and stuff tomorrow. Since she is your 'unofficial best man' and stuff."

I sighed almost panicking "I don't know Jules. I don't know if that's a good idea. She's not going to want to come to that."

"What if I already asked her?"

"Did you?"

She nodded slowly. Fucking great. The last thing I wanted was to have Madison there for the family stuff. It was hard enough to hide my feelings from Julia and now I'm going to have to work harder to hide them from her parents.

"She's nice. I like her"

I smiled and hugged her tight. Don't say that. Please don't say that. I hated hearing her say that because if she knew the truth she would never say that. I shifted and stood up taking her hand. I needed to make up for what I've done...in my own way. I pulled her to me kissing her and lifted her carrying her to the bedroom.

Maddy's POV:

The banging on the door of my hotel room woke me. I groaned at the massive headache I had and dragged myself to the door tripping over various items on the floor.  I struggled with the lock and opened the door

"Ugh...death by mini bar I see"

I squealed and threw myself at him hugging him tight. Regardless of how much my head hurt I was excited to see my best friend standing there.

"Danny!! You came!!!"

He walked in and looked around kicking the little bottles on the floor.

"Jesus Madison you have a long night?"

I nodded and flopped down on the bed face first. He crawled on the bed next to me propping himself up on his elbow and laughing at me. I didn't normally act like this in front of Danny...in front of anyone actually. He tucked my hair behind my ear and rubbed my back soothingly

"What happened"

"Jon"

He chuckled "What about Jon?"

"We made out...told each other we were still in love with each other" I mumbled into the mattress

"Isn't that what you wanted?"

I nodded into the mattress and turned my head towards Danny

"I'm a bad person. I'm destroying this completely perky, annoying, adorable girl because I'm a selfish bitch who can't let go of the love of her life" I grumbled

"Maddy you're not a selfish bitch. Nor are you a bad person. Do I think you need to let it go? Yes. But you can't help how you feel."

"I don't know what to do. She invited me to this rehearsal slash luncheon thing with the families and I don't know if I should....."
