Tanaka Ryunosuke - Can it be Us?

"(F/N)! Oi, (F/N)!" You heard a familiar voice call you. Who else would it be? It's your beloved childhood best friend, Tanaka!

"Ryu! Finally! I've been waiting for you!" You crossed your arms and rolled your eyes. It was a joke though, you just got here.

"Oi, Auntie said you just left!" He exclaimed. "Let's go, shall we?"

You nodded and the both of you started skipping towards the Carnival. After playing several games that made your heart almost drop, the both of you decided to go to a more peaceful and calming ride. A little boat ride.

"Ticket for two, please!" You asked the cashier. Looking at the man beside you, the cashier thought you were dating. Well no. Not yet.

"Do you want a more romantic ride with you boyfriend?" The cashier said. Tanaka heard the cashier, and thought it would be his chance.

"U-Uh, we're just f—"

"Yes, please!," Tanaka cut you off, "make it the most romantic for us!"

"Alright!" The cashier smiled and handed the both of you tickets with a lot of red hearts. Since he's the one who lied, you made him pay for it.

As they assisted the both of you to a boat ride, you realized that the boat was covered with fairy lights and hearts. The man rowing the boat was also singing love songs for the both of you. Even though you weren't sure about your feelings for Tanaka, you knew that this was the most romantic thing he would ever do to you. You don't know what he feels though, and why he lied about you being couples. Your blurry feelings were clear, at last.

"You know, (F/N), my sister thinks we're dating." He finally spoke.

"Oh really? Cool." You tried to compose yourself and look away. You haven't fallen in love, to be honest, and you never realized it was really hard to hide your feelings especially when you're fully aware of it.

He then cleared his throat. "W-Well, if I was really your boyfriend, I'd spoil you soooo bad with gift and chocolates and spread kisses on your face. Well, if we were. But we're friends right?" He tried to get your attention by looking directly at you. You wanted to tell him so bad, but you wanted to stay cool with your reply.

"So, what are you implying then?" You tried your best to look at him with a straight face.

"I'm just saying that... uhh.... that the guy who would win your heart would be so lucky. You know, he got the (L/N) (F/N) to fall in love. Just saying." This time, he was the one who looked away.

The ride seemed to be so short that you wanted to be with him more. When the both of you got out, you noticed that he seemed down. To make up for it, you suggested to ride the last ride for the night, the ferris wheel.

An awkward silence was created in between the both of you. You knew you had to start, because for some reason he seemed so disappointed. You tried not to overthink it, but could it be that he feels the same?

"Can you picture it?," you started, "You and I together? U-Us?"

He looked at you, slightly shocked. "Us, huh? I love the sound of that."

You felt your cheeks burning. You can't resist it anymore. If you break your heart tonight, then you have to live with it.

"Ryu, I've been thinking about our relationship lately. Like, a lot." You smiled. Even with dim lighting, you can tell that Tanaka was blushing already.

"Look, Ryu. We can't be friends anymore." You looked at him in the eye, seeing sadness in his. You felt bad of the way you said it, but its the element of suprise, right?

"I-I understand, (F/N). You—"

"I will always see you as something else. I've known you since we were diapers! I can't imagine living the best life without you. After today, I realized that I'd do anything to be with you, Ryu!" You exclaimed and hugged him tightly. It took a little more time for him to realize what just happened and hug you back.

"You always know how to say it into words, (F/N). That's why I love you so much." He confessed.

"And you're the best as ever, Ryu! I love you so much too!"

You shared your first kiss with the love of your life. It might be impossible, but for you, your first love lasted forever, and that was the best experience you could ever imagine.
