Sugawara Koushi - Connected

I didn't know you.

You came in the most unexpected moment.

You met me at a very strange time in my life.

You are a blessing in disguise.

But we are not the same, and never will be.

I wish you were here.

❤️❤️❤️

"Good morning, everyone!" I greeted my workmates. I've been working in this small coffee shop for a few years already. And everyday is just the same. It's just an unending cycle, and I don't think I want it to end. I'm okay with this now, and I've already accepted my fate.

Just a mere lonely human.

"Hey, (F/N)!" A familiar voice called. She was Tanaka Saeko, a regular costumer who's working in a nearby shop. She's become my only best friend now, and we've been hanging out a lot.

"What's up, Saeko?"

She sat on a table as I waited for her to order. "I'd really appreciate it if you come to my little bro's match. It'll be fun, I promise! Oh, I'll take a cappuccino frappe."

"Sure! Wait, you're not going to order the usual?" I asked.

"Nope! I wanna try something new for a change!"

Change, huh?

After placing her order on the table, I sat down with her for a while. "So when is your brother's match?"

"Next week! They're going to the Nationals!" She replied.

"Nationals... you mean the match is in Tokyo?"

"Yeah! Isn't that great? Let's go to the Skytree together!" She exclaimed.

"So, you coming?"

"Color me stoked!"

❤️❤️❤️

"We're finally here, (F/N)!" Saeko shouted, waking me up. After helping her with the drums to be used on cheering for Karasuno High, I excused myself for a while. Big crowds aren't my thing, so I have to calm myself first.

From the comfort room, I can already hear the drums. I guess the rally is going on forever, maybe?

I wasn't a big fan of sports. I actually kind of hated it. In high school, I was physically frail. Even for at least 3 laps of running, I can easily run out of breath and feel like I'm about to pass out. But this time, I can feel something good about it. Maybe it's just me.

I decided to roam for a little while. Well, I was pretty lost so I was actually just finding Saeko. After a while, I followed the beat of the drum and found myself cheering after learning that Karasuno had won against a powerful school. Saeko found me, and afterwards started hugging me like there was no tomorrow.

"Where were you? I was waiting for you the whole time!" She asked.

"I'm really sorry! I got a little lost," I confessed.

A few moments later, I found myself on another hallway, alone. I know where I'm going now. At least, my gut knows it.

Walking a little further, I noticed a silver-haired boy with a Karasuno High jacket. He was talking to a smaller teammate, probably the one with the freak quick. I knew he was familiar, but he probably doesn't know me because I was part of the crowd. I'm a plain person, after all.

Deciding to ignore him, we passed by each other.

Then, the room bursted with red.

I looked at him, seeing a red string intertwining his pinky finger. When I looked at mine, I knew it. He wasnt just familiar.

We've met before.

"Y-You..," he exclaimed, "you're that girl again!"

"And it's you. It's still you!" I felt tears in my eyes because of joy. We've met a long time ago, and when the world bursted in red before, we didn't know about it. We were too young to realize that we were soulmates.

Just then a volleyball bounced hard behind him, making us snap out of reality. Facing him, I introduced.

"I'm (L/N) (F/N). Nice to meet you."

"Sugawara Koushi. A pleasure to meet such woman like you." He smiled.

"Well then, I'll see you after your matches, Sugawara!"

I fell hard. Hard enough to realize that I'm running out of time.

I wish I tried to find you.

I wish I didn't kept myself away from people.

I wish I didn't stay in that cycle.

I wish I was still there for you.

❤️❤️❤️
