A Whole New World ~ Act 1

Chapter 17

Olivia POV

Beep... Beep... Beep

I groaned at the noise. Opening my eyes was not the easiest thing in the world. As soon as I did I was blinded by white light. Hospital. It must be. I can't remember what happened. Somehow I managed to open my eyes fully and sat up straight.

Looking around the room I saw two other beds. I was furthest from the doors. My dear cousin was in the middle bed looking absolutely fine and one the bed closest to the doors was the lad that must have been driving the van. I think his name was Tyler? I did however notice that the nurses were around Tyler and Bella had some sort of doctor E.R doctor looking at her.

I looked down at myself and realised I had a sling round my left arm. Oh yeah right it got crushed. I don't feel much pain though I must be on morphine or something. I look to see a drip to my right with some sort of clear liquid in it.

All of a sudden the doors burst open.

"Bells, Oliva? Are you guys alright?" Uncle Charlie came rushing into the room.

Before I could answer, Bella spoke.

"I'm fine Dad, calm down."

"I'm sorry Bella, Olivia. I tried to stop." Tyler piped up

"It's okay, Tyler." What? No it's not! I get that this was an accident but I almost died.

"It sure as hell is not okay." Charlie responded

"Dad it's not his fault-"

"We nearly lost you." With that comment, my heart broke. He did care about me didn't he?

"But you didn't." Bella said while looking in my direction, noticing I was awake, she gave me a little smirk. I swear to god if I didn't have so many wires attached to me I would have gone straight over there and punched her right in the face.

"You can kiss your licence goodbye." Charlie said while speaking to Tyler.

The doors opened once more.

"I heard the chief's family was here," an unknown voice spoke. I looked at the male that walked in. He was probably in his early 30's, tall, blond and had good looks. He looked oddly like the cullens. Something told me they were supernatural also.

"Good day, Dr. Cullen." Charlie said. Ha! Cullen I knew it.

"I've got this one Jackie," He said to Bella's doctor.

"You have a nice knot growing back there, but your x-rays show no indication of concussion." The doctor said while examining her head.

"I'm sorry Bella, I really -"

Tyler was cut off by Charlie pulling the curtain closed.

"It would have been a lot worse if Edward hadn't knocked me out of the way." Yeah and in turn I nearly lost an arm.

"Edward? Your boy?" Charlie questions the Dr.

"It was amazing he got to me so fast. He was nowhere near me." Bella pushed again. I could tell the Doctor didn't like where this conversation was going.

"As long as you're safe. Now Bella is free to be discharged but I would like to keep Olivia overnight." Doctor Cullen said, giving me a small smile.

"Yeah, okay. Come on Bella." They left through the doors without even saying goodbye. Well then, what a great loving family I have.

Dr. Cullen started walking over to me with a sympathetic smile.

"Don't look at me like that."

"Like what?"

"With sympathy, I've had enough of that to last me a lifetime." I said with a sad chuckle. He just gave back a small smile before he could say anything the doors opened once more. To reveal a very pissed off looking Arielle.

"Before you say anything it wasn't my fault I passed out!" I said hoping that Arielle is not angry at me, she looked ready to kill (no pun intended).

"I'm not angry with you."

"Phew."

"I'm angry with your son." She continued, pointing a finger at the doctor.

The Doc decided to get back to my chart and started to check me over.

"Right so as you can probably tell you have sustained a few injuries-"

"No shit Sherlock." Arielle mumbled under her breath. I let out a muffled giggle.

"As I was saying, your left arm was badly broken in several places. There is no cast on it as of yet but it is squarely bandaged for now and will have to stay in the sling for a good few months, and you also seem to have a mild concussion. As you heard you're going to stay overnight. I will be back in an hour to check up on you." she said, giving a nod to me and Arielle and exiting through those doors (and I noticed we were the only two left in the room.)

"Are you okay?" I asked.

"Seriously? You nearly died and you're asking an OG vampire if they're okay."

"Yep."

"Haha, what am I going to do with you."

"I don't know, maybe give me the thing you were talking about before I passed out?"

"Well at least we know you haven't got memory loss," she said as we shared a laugh.

She got up from the chair next to my bed that I didn't even realise she was sitting on and pulled the hospital curtain that was around my bed. Even though there was nobody in the room, it gave us some more privacy. She sped over to the chair.

"Right, you need to listen to me. I'm gonna give you some of my blood-"

"Wh-" she put her hand on my mouth.

"Listen, you won't turn into a vampire but it will heal your injuries and you'll have to be watched for 24 hours but that's fine with me. Either I could do it or rope one of the Cullens into it as this is technically Dickwards fault." She took a breath, "Look whether you like it or not, you're my friend and we have eachothers backs. So I'm gonna protect you, okay?"

I just nod my head. But then an idea came to me.

"Right anyw-- Did you just lick my HAND?!" She whisper shouted.

"Shouldn't have put it on my mouth then." I said with a smirk.

"Touche."

Next thing I know she rolled up her sleeve and her face started to. I don't know what you would call it. Vamp Out? Her eyes turned red and black veins started to appear on her face. The weird part was that I wasn't scared even when I saw her fangs dig into her wrist. She bit down on her wrist and grabbed a cup that was on the nightstand. She pulled back from her wrist and held the cup under the wound. The cup filled up a quarter of the way and the wound healed.

"Drink." She commanded me, handing me the cup.

I did as I was told. It wasn't the best let me say it just tasted like metal to be honest.

"How do you live on this stuff?" I said, shaking my head, she just laughed.

"If you were a vampire you would say something else."

We just sat there and talked the whole night. She told me about cold ones (being the Cullens) and shifters that lived here. During the night I met all the Cullens as they came to speak to Arielle (except Edward and Esme). Believe it or not they were really nice people who came to apologize. I could tell I clicked with Rosalie. I also found out about her and Jasper, I was happy for her.

Things were starting to look up.
