Chapter 37

My eyes shutter open slowly as they adjust to the street lights flying past. I was inside of a car and the road was pretty quiet and dark. I look to my side and see Simon driving. We were the only people in the car.

I check the time on the dashboard and see that the time was 3:23am.

Simon: Finally awake then?

Me: Where are we going? Where's Vik?

Simon: Viks staying overnight at the hospital. He needs some rest. And I thought you might need a little break from the world.

Me: What do you mean by that?

Simon: We're going to the beach. I've got some spare clothes for us. I just thought with everything going on you could do with a break.

Me: Why at this time?

Simon: Just go to sleep kaylee. I'll wake you up when we get there okay.

I ignore him and go to turn on the radio. All that was playing was the voices of the radio presenter.

Simon: Put some music on the bluetooth if you want. You can use my phone.

He gets his phone out his back pocket and passes it to me.

Me: Whats the password?

Simon: 2750

I type it into the password and it unlocks. I go to Simon's Spotify and put on some Billie Eilish.

Simon: Do you have to listen to this?

Me: Well as soon as I get to sleep you can change it.

Simon: Okay fine.

I put his phone down and pull my legs up to my chest. I rest my head sideways so I'm looking at Simon and I couldn't help but smile.

Simon: What?

Me: What?

Simon: You're smiling at me.

Me: No I'm not.

Simon: You're literally smiling now. What's so funny?

Me: You're cute. That's all.

Simon: That's all?

Me: Well you know what I mean. I'm just gonna go to sleep.

Simon: Good you're annoying.

Me: Thanks I guess. Goodnight.

Simon: Night.

I wake up inside of a hotel room. I must really be a deep sleeper if I didn't wake up to Simon carrying me to a room. I turn to my side and see Simon asleep next to me.

I get up and walk over to the curtains and open them to see the beach. It was beautiful but it was quite cold out.

Simon: Close the fucking curtains Kaylee!

I close them quickly just because i knew Simon didn't have much sleep. I realise I'm still in the same party clothes as yesterday and they were quite uncomfortable.

Me: Did you bring my spare clothes up with you?

Simon: No they're still in the car. The keys are over there.

He points to the desk with the kettle and tv on. I grab them along with the key card and walk out the door. I head into the elevator and down to the first floor. I get to the bottom floor and head to Simon's car.

I open the boot and grab out the clothes that were in there. It was mostly just sidemen merch. I felt something touch my from behind me so I turn around and see a man standing behind me.

Man: Well hello young lady.

Me: Piss off.

Man: Someone's had an emotional day haven't they?

I look at him confused then realise my wig was probably all messed up and my makeup was probably all over my face.

Man: I'll give you a good time.

Me: Can you just leave me alone please.

I close the boot and start to walk back into the hotel but he grabs my arm.

Me: Get off me!

Man: Now why should I do that?

Me: I know people that can fuck you up.

Man: Oh I'm scared. Where are they then.

Me: Just get off me!

He pulls me closer to him and starts to kiss me. I tried to stop him but he just moved his hand up my skirt. I had enough of people treating me like this. I kick the man which makes him take a few steps back so I took the opportunity to run back inside.

I get to the elevator and I looked behind me to see him coming so I took a turn and ran up the stairs. It was lucky our room was on the second floor so I quickly ran up there with the man closely behind me. I open the door to the second floor and run to our room and quickly open it and close it.

I ran into the bathroom, locked the door and started crying quietly. I then heard knocks coming from the actual hotel door. I hear Simon grunt and walk over to the door.

Simon: Hello?

Man: Erm has a girl ran in here by any chance?

Simon: No, fuck off you fucking bellend.

Simon slams the door shut and then I hear a knock at the bathroom door. I unlock the door and Simon slides it open. I run into his arms and hug him tight not wanting to let go of him.

Simon: Heyyyy baby girl what happened?

Me: I hate men!

Simon: What about me and the boys? You must love us right?

Me: You're kids not men.

I slowly loosen the grip and look up at him. He whips the tears from my cheeks and takes me back into the bathroom. He picks me up and puts me on the counter by the sink.

He grabs some tissue and rinses it under the water before removing my makeup. After he finished with that he took off my wig and put it down on the other side of the counter.

Simon: Beautiful.

He mumbles underneath his breath. I just smile at him and he grabs my face and kisses my head.

Simon: Right then I'll leave you to get dressed.

He walks out and closes the door. I quickly jump in the shower and wash my body. I get out and manage to get the knots out my wig while I waited for my body to try.

I get dressed into some sidemen joggers and a T-shirt with a hoodie over it. I put my wig on and head out the room to see Simon sat on the bed waiting on his phone.

Simon: Beach?

Me: Let's go!
