15 months later
I wake up to the sound of a crying baby. Every fucking night. I got up and picked up little Mackenzie from his crib and walked over to the kitchen to make his bottle.
I hadn't told Simon about his baby. They all messaged me so much that I had do get a new phone. I really did miss them but now I've got 6 month old Mackenzie to keep me company.
Mackenzie soon calmed down after I gave him his bottle. It was around 9am so I thought maybe me and him could go to the park. I get him changed into some dungarees and I just throw on a shirt and jeans.
I put him in his push chair and take him to the elevator. We lived in a block of flats and it was quite nice for just us. I pushed him out the elevator and over to the bus stop.
We got off the bus and over to the park. I got him out of his push chair and onto a baby swing. He enjoyed it a lot but looked like he was getting quite tired. I took him back out and back into his pushchair.
I gave him a bottle and gently rocked the push chair while scrolling through my phone. He finished maybe half of his bottle before falling asleep so I just kept and eye on him while enjoying the sun.
Someone: Lee?
I knew that voice from miles away. And plus no one ever calls me Lee.
Josh: It's not her, forget it Simon.
I look over to that direction and see all the boys walking towards me. I stand up and try and hide the push chair behind me. It's not like I felt ashamed about Mackenzie. I just didn't want Simon finding out.
Simon: It is her!
He runs over to me and gives me a big hug. I missed him so much. His smell, his lackey ness everything.
He pulls away and looks at the push chair with a shocked but happy smile on his face. By now the rest of the guys had come over and greeted me.
Simon: Who's this cute little monkey then?
He says in a baby voice looking in and rubbing his face.
Me: That monkey is called Mackenzie.
Vik: You have a child?
Me: Yeah I did. He's turned my life around for the best.
Vik: I'm so proud of you.
Harry: And I see you have hair again.
He says pointing at my hair that just came past my shoulder.
Me: Yeah! I finished Chemo and now I'm free of cancer.
Mackenzie starts to cry so I turn around to sort him out but Simon was already getting him out. He get him out and cradled him in his arms as they looked into each other's arms.
Simon: How old is he?
Me: 6 months.
I see Simon trying to do the maths in his head and when he figures it out, a tear falls down his face.
Me: He has your eyes. They always remind me of you.
Simon now pulls Mackenzie up to his face and kisses his forehead.
Ethan: Shall we go sit down for a drink?
Me: Okay, you guys have so much to tell me about.
JJ: And you have a lot of explaining to do.
I look at JJ and I can see the pain in his eyes. I knew he would stay mad at me for leaving. Me and JJ always had a love hate relationship.
