"What a day, who knew tracking down anachronisms all the time with no break whatsoever would start to piss me off." You sat down on the steps of the parlor with a huff as the rest of the team came flooding in from the last mission. Sarah went over to the main controls and looked at the screen.
"Well it looks like that might have been the last one of the day. Or the last one for the time being that is. Gideon?"
"That is indeed correct Captain Lance." Gideons voice rang through the room, washing a tidal wave of relief over you.
"Thank god." You leaned your head against the doorway, sighing from finally getting to rest. That is till you saw the shoes of the tall Boy Scout standing in front of you.
"Hey (Y/N)! I think I know just the thing to cheer you up. Come with me." Ray started to walk towards one of the exits before you interjected.
"You know I would love to Ray, but I kinda just want to go lay down right now."
"Aw come on, it'll be fun." He gave you a wink which sent a slight warmth up to your face. Before anyone else in the room could look and see your reddened face, you stood up with your head down and followed Ray. He led you down the halls taking multiple turns in the maze of a ship before stopping at a door you'd never seen before.
"What's in there?"
"Well it used to be just a storage room full of some old useless objects, so I cleaned up a bit and..." Ray opened up the door to reveal a bright room, filled with mats and some equipment used for fighting. "Ta-Da! A training area for learning and sparring!"
"Woah." You stepped inside and looked at some of the equipment.
"I know that sometimes you like to spar and train when your bored so I put this together." Ray had on his signature boyish smile and watched you as you took in the room.
"Aw for lil ol me?" You laughed a little and looked over to see him with his hands in his pockets, already staring at you.
"Well, it would definitely benefit the team as a whole but, yeah." You locked onto each others eyes for a few moments. His eyes were so innocent a pure that you couldn't help but smile whenever you saw them. But the moment quickly went away when he cleared his throat. "Hey! How about a match now? You and me?" He fast walked over to the middle of the mat, waiting for you to join.
"You're joking right?" Ray I could take you down in a second."
"I think you'll be surprised in the combat abilities I have without the atom suit."
"I don't want to hurt you Ray. I trained with Sarah and learned League of Assassin fighting tactics. You won't stand a chance against me."
"Prove it." He smirked over at you with a challenging gaze. You knew he wouldn't take no for an answer so you gave up and walked over. You stood on the opposite side of the mat as him as he got into a ready position, which you then mirrored.
"I'll go easy on you."
"I think we both know that you won't." You smirked at his remark then quickly lunged toward him. Throwing punch after punch he was able to block and counter almost every one. You were impressed by how much he actually knew, but then again you'd never seen him fight without the atom suit on. He threw multiple punches and kicks which you dodged effortlessly. Due to the two of yours size difference, you were able to dodge more since you were a smaller target. You quickly saw an opening though and slid your leg down, knocking him down onto his back. While he was disoriented you went over and pinned him, with your hands holding down his wrists as you straddles his stomach.
"Ha! Just like I said Palmer, you wouldn't stand a chance."
"So you did." He gazed up at you with a look you'd never seen from him before. He trapped you in his stare again, drawing you in with his beautiful eyes. His deep, dark brown irises that you could get lost in without ever really realizing. And boy did you get lost. Your grips on him had loosened which he took as an opportunity to flip you both, with him now pinning you. "What was that you were saying?"
"Hey! No fair! I had you down first!"
"But you were the one who got distracted." You noticed the now small gap between the both of your faces and grew red quickly. You couldn't deny how attractive Ray was, or the fact that you did like him a lot. But you never imagined he'd share the same feelings towards you.
Not controlling your actions you found yourself leaning closer to him and bringing his lips to yours. He didn't flinch nor move away at all, but instead started kissing you back. His lips were soft and delicate, just like you thought. You didn't think sweet little Ray would be rough at all, or so you thought. After kissing lightly for a moment or so, his kiss became heated and almost...hungry. And you'd be lying if you said you didn't enjoy it. As it became harder to breath from the kiss, you leaned back to take a deep breath of air and fill your lungs. The look in his eyes was the same as before, but now you knew what his stare had meant.
"Still want to go in your room and relax? Or join me in mine?" This side of Ray you were seeing for the first time enticed you even more, and you knew you wanted the same thing as him right now.
"You. Join you." He smirked and in one fluid motion picked you up so you were both off the ground and your legs were wrapped around his waist. He carried you to his room which was three doors down and locked the door, not leaving your eyes for a second.

"Where are they?! I called a team meaning almost ten minutes ago!" Sarah paced back in forth in the parlor with the rest of the team minus you and Ray. She was growing more tense and frustrated by the second, having to wait for so long.
"Relax Sarah, Ray's probably just showing (Y/N) this new project he'd been working on." Nate tried to tame the situation a little to help you and Rays case, but failed when Sarah spoke up.
"For an hour? I don't think so. You know what, I'll go get them myself." Sarah began to walk out the parlor before being stopped by you and Ray in one of the doorways.
"No need. We're right here." Ray walked over to the parlor slowly with you, trying to help you walk.
"Wooaahh, what happened to you?" Sarah, along with the others, looked over at you and your shaking legs. You were leaning against Ray and trying your hardest to keep your legs from giving out right from under you.
"Me and Ray were sparring and I...fell...wrong. Hurt my legs by accident." Suspicious eyes came from everyone and went between you and Ray, except for one person.
"Ha! Right. Nice job haircut." Mick laughed and gave a nod to Ray in understanding of what you both just did. You turned red in the face again and tried avoiding eye contact from everyone as best you could. Thankfully being rescued by Ray though who cleared his throat.
"So what's this team meeting about captain?" You were amazed by Rays shift in tone from an hour ago to now, and how boyish he has become again.
"Sorry (Y/N) but I lied, we missed this miniature anachronism. Gotta go take care of it quickly."
"Oh ummm, I'll sit this one out. You know, just with my legs and all, don't want to slow you guys down." Sarah hated to admit but you were right, you were in no condition to fight.
"Alright then you stay back and watch us from here. Keep your com on just in case we need anything."
"Aye-Aye Captain."
"Alright then, Legends roll out." The team started walking out till it was just you and Ray left.
"You relax your legs and I'll be back in a little bit. Then we can do whatever you'd like." Ray kissed you lightly once before turning to leave to. You smiled and yelled to him.
"Good luck." He flashed you a smile before disappearing through the exit.
This was definitely the start of a beautiful relationship.
