After joining the legends less than a week ago, you started to learn more and more about your teammates. Sara was our badass captain and assassin, Mick is always drunk or hungry, Nate was a nerdy historian, Amaya was kind and almost like from a different time, and Jax plus the Professor create a nuclear superhero. But of course, then there is Ray. He is a smart, handsome and an adorable dork. He created a suit that allows him to shrink to the size of an ant which is incredible. And you fell hard and fast for him.

It's been slow since you've joined so the others haven't seen your powers yet. What will they think? They've always seemed odd to other people, what if they think you're weird? What will Ray think?

"Excuse me Ms.(L/N)." Gideons voice rang through your room taking you away from your thoughts.

"Yes Gideon?"

"The team is requesting your presence in the training room." Oh no. You get up and head toward the training room worried. 'They're going to want to see my powers. What do I do? They're going to think I'm a freak." As your mind became more and more cloudy with your thoughts, you arrive.

     "There she is! Hi (Y/N)!"

     "Hi Ray." You stand over by Ray who's with Nate.

     "Hey whats going on?" Nate holds up his hand which you gladly high five.

     "So now that everyone's here, time to get started." Ray taps on a screen by the wall which set up the room with a large circle on the floor. "Who wants to go first?"

     "I will." Amaya steps forward into the circle with her amulet ready.

     "I'll go against you." Nate cockily walks into the circle smirking.

     "You sure Nate?" You look at Nate but he just shrugs off your comment. Ray told them to start and Nate immediately stealed up.

     "Take your best shot." Amaya tapped her amulet and a blue elephant aura appeared around her. "Oh boy." Amaya charged straight towards Nate sending him flying into the wall. You cover your mouth to hold back the laugh wishing to come out. "Ow."

     The fight between Nate and Amaya didn't last long, with Amaya being the victory. Then it was Sarah against Jax and Professor Stein, which Sarah won of course. And without Mick showing up that left just you and...Ray!

"Alright (Y/N), looks like you and I are going up next." Ray walks into the circle and turns to face you. It wasn't then till you realized that Ray wasn't wearing his suit.

"Wait, what about the atom suit. I mean shouldn't you be wearing it?"

"I just want to get a general and first understanding of your abilities. You know, without high tech protection and weaponry on myself." He gets in a fighting stance waiting for you to join him but you don't move.

"Are you sure? I don't want to hurt you on accident or anything."

"Don't worry about it, plus, if anything goes wrong the medbay is three doors down." Ray gives you a thoughtful smile making you melt on the inside.

"Alright then Palmer." You step into the circle, opposite to Ray and face him. "Don't say I didn't warn you." Ray smirks then rushes towards you ready to land the first hit. But you block him with your magic, manipulating a small shield out of thin air. Ray steps back and you both begin to circle each other. "Energy and matter manipulation?"

"I prefer to just say magic." What can best be described of as thin strands of (F/C) energy wove itself around your hands and fingers.

"Astonishing." Professor Stein and the rest of the team watch you in anticipation to see what else you can do. Ray comes at you again and swings but you dodge then hold him in place with your magic.

"Hey, this is hardly fair."

"You're the one that didn't want to wear the suit." You back up and release him before starting to spar. After a few moments of holding back on your abilities you decide to kick his feet out from under him then pin him.

"Ok, ok. I give up." Ray smacks the ground with his hand a few times and you let go. Holding your hand out you help him up and see him staring in your eyes. "That was incredible."

"Thanks." You blush at Rays comment and turn away to hide it. The team all starts to cheer at the performance of your powers and you laugh. "Guys it was nothing really, come on."

"Nothing? I'm half of a nuclear superhero and even I got to say that was awesome." Jax high fives you, impressed by your powers.

"You may have me running for my money." Sarah congratulates you as well. Nate and Amaya talk to you as well asking about how your abilities came to be and all before being interrupted.

"Would you mind me running a few tests on your powers in the lab?" You turn to Ray who's standing behind you and then stare in his eyes.

"Oh umm, yeah of course." God, does this guy know how flustered he makes you every time. You walk quietly with Ray towards the lab, trying not to show the redness on your cheeks.upon arriving, Ray has you sit down on a stool next to some screens and other equipment while he sits on another in front of you.

"Alright, is it ok if I put these on you?" Ray holds up a bunch of small little patches connected to wires.

"Yeah, sure." You hold out your arms for him to place them on you. With one hand he loosely holds you by your wrist, and applies the patch to your forearm with the other. You couldn't help but stare at him as he kept grazing your skin ever so lightly. He did the same for your other arm, then applied another to each of your biceps.

"May I?" Ray holds up two more patches and you assume they're supposed to go on your temples. He then lightly puts his hand on your cheek before placing the patch on your opposite temple. You were frozen staring at him out of awe. He was so incredibly handsome, even though he acts so childish at times. You two had never been this close before but he was the most welcoming person since you got here. Inviting you to movie nights, training, research. But typically Nate or others were around when those happened. Now you were alone with him.

Ray placed the final patch on your other temple then abruptly stopped. He caught you staring, then began staring right back. His hand was still on your cheek which made you blush more than you ever had.

"Your powers are truly amazing. They are so interesting and breathtaking. Not to mention unbelievably...beautiful."

"M-my powers?"

"You." Ray leaned closer and closer till his lips met yours. As soon as he kissed you, you melted into his touch and relaxed completely. You never thought this would happen between the two of you. Ray always acts so unaware so you never know what's going on in his brain of his. You also couldn't tell if he did like you or if he was always just being nice. Ray pulled away all too soon for your liking and looked you in the eyes. "I'm so sorry I should of asked for your permission I didn't know how you felt so I just went for it but now I don't really know but I-"

     You pull Ray closer by his shirt and kiss him again. This time only short and sweet. "Be quiet Palmer." You both smile and kiss again, relishing in the wonderful moment. Perhaps you'll like being a part of this team a bit more than you thought.

Here's a little story to make up for so much time away. I'm ready to get back to writing after graduation so get ready for lots of new imagines.
