You've been a part of the Legends for a long time, longer than you could imagine. It's been some of the greatest months of your whole life. You'd never want to replace a single moment with the team. Sarah has become like a sister to you and Rays like a big brother. Mick has become your drinking buddy while Jax is your ship fixing buddy. Professor Stein is fun and interesting to talk to when you learn of his experiences from life. Although Nate and Amaya are new you have fun with Nate talking about movies and history. And with Amaya she's kind and you ask her about life in her time and working with The Justice Society.

As selfish as it sounds though, you want more. You want more to your life than just traveling through time. You want something more meaningful. Love. A family. Friends that don't have superpowers. You hadn't told anyone about how you felt because you thought you were going to sound unhappy or unappreciative. So you hid your thoughts and feelings with a smile and fighting.

You were pulled from your thoughts when the alarm for a new Aberration blared in your room. "Gideon?"

"My apologize Ms. (L/N), but there's a new and quite large aberration in Liberty, Colorado 1874." You sit up quickly in your bed wide eyed.

"The Old West?" You stand up and get ready to leave by grabbing some things.

"Indeed. Perhaps you'll run into Mr. Hex again." You smirk at Gideons remark and head towards the fabrication room. When you arrive Nate and Ray are already getting ready and talking about something you didn't pay attention too. You quickly grabbed your clothes from last time and change in a room.

"Wow (Y/N). Have somewhere to be? Or maybe...someone to see?" Ray nudged your arm with his elbow to tease you and you nudge him back.

"Oh put a can in it Palmer." He laughs and goes back to talking to Nate when you leave for the cargo hold. The truth is you did miss Jonah, a lot. But after a month or two you thought you'd never see him again, so you let your feelings be put on the back burner. But that didn't mean you ever lost your feelings for the cowboy entirely.

You, Sarah, Ray, Nate, Jax, Amaya, and Mick all left and rode your horses for a few minutes before stopping at a small clearing. Mick looked around for minute before looking to Jax. "Where's the Professor?"

"More whiskey for me." You scoff and lightly punch his arm.

"Save some for me." You laugh but quickly quite down when you here yells coming from around the corner. "Sounds like a commotion of some kind." Sarah got off her horse and turned to you all before walking towards the noise.

"Hold back, let's get a better look." You get down from your horse then grab your gun and follow Sarah around the trees. There you see men on horses circling another man about to be hanged. Sarah pulled out a small telescope and looked through it. "Is that Hex?"

"What?" You quickly grab the telescope from Sarah and look to the hanging man. You'd recognize that jacket and face anywhere. "Sarah we have to help him."

"We gotta take his crew out first."

"Don't worry guys, I got this." Without a second thought Nate ran out from behind you and went towards the men.

"Sarah, Nates going to get Hex killed." Ray came up beside you to interject.

"And himself." You roll your eyes and scoff.

"That too." You watched as Nate walked out and stopped in front of the men about to hang hang Hex. You were hoping Nate didn't screw this up for Jonah's sake. But of course, with the Legends luck, the men starting shooting at Nate and he steels up. This causing the horse Hex is on to run away, leaving Hex hanging. "No!"

Sarah quickly lifts up and aims her gun at the rope above Hex, nailing it exactly and saving Hex. You sigh with relief letting the breath you had been holding in. You start walking with the Legends to Jonah and Nate when being stopped by Amaya. "Who is this Hex man anyway."

"He's somewhat of an "old friend" of our past captain. We helped him awhile back when his town was threatened frequently by a gang. He is a little rough around the edges but he truly is a kind man."

"You speak very highly of him." Amaya smirks and raises an eyebrow at you. You blush lightly and give a slight laugh to play it off.

"He saved my life last time we were here , that's all." You both start walking to catch up with the others.

"You sure about that?" You ignore Amaya when you get to the back of the team. You hear Jonah's raspy voice through the silence and start walking towards Sarah in the front. You smile when you see Jonah and his eyes then meet yours as well.

"(Y/N)?" His expression softened as he starred at you for the first time in what was years to him.

"Looks like you were the one who needed saving this time Hex." He smirks at you for a moment before Sarah interrupts the moment.

"Alright back to the ship everyone." Thanks Sarah. You walk back alongside Sarah and Amaya knowing fully well you could talk to Jonah with Nate asking him a thousand questions. When you got back Sarah stops you in the cargo hold. "(Y/N) I need you and Nate to go to the library and make sure time is playing out like it's supposed to." She turns again and starts walking up the stairs to which you follow close behind.

"Wait, Sarah seriously. We just got back and I was hoping to-" Sarah snaps towards you at the top of the stairs. She knew you wouldn't say, so you just shrug and nudge past her instead.

"Never mind." You go to the library and start to pull up the timeline, maps, and pictures of Liberty in 1874.

"Man that was amazing!" You see Nate walk in with a pep in his step from the showdown a just minutes ago.

"Yeah, amazing how you almost got a man killed." You turn and cross you arms at Nate with an angered expression.

"Woah, I'm sorry?" You saw Nates features turn a little more sad and you immediately felt the guilt come onto you.

"No, I'm sorry. It's just been a, weird day." You wipe your eyes hoping it would help you relax but it ultimately doesn't.

"Let me guess, something happened last time you were here?" Your eyes widened from Nates impeccable perception skills. "You fell in love?" He read your face and expressions vividly.

     "Love is for children Nate."

"Ahh so you did. But who?" You looked away from him hoping he wouldn't be able to figure out anymore. "Noooo, shut up. Hex?"

     "How the fu-"

"I'm a little surprised by the whole face thing but...wow. So what's the story?"

"Look there is no story. He just saved me from a pig in a saloon and that was the end of it. Nothing happened."

"Come on (Y/N). I saw the way you two looked at each other, there was something there."

"Forget it Nate. It'll never happen anyway." You turn away towards the screen to avoid any more of this conversation, and that's when you notice the timeline didn't change. "Nate, saving Hex wasn't the aberration. You have to tell Sarah now."

     "Me? What are you doing?"

"Don't worry about it, go." Nate jogged off and when the coast was clear, you went to your room. Your conversation with Nate clung to you and you wanted it to go away. But how could it? Your feelings for Jonah can't happen. You're a hero from the future, and he's a cowboy from hundreds of years ago. You sat on the floor in front of your bed and put your head on your knees, trying to suppress your tears. After about 5 minutes or so you suddenly hear Gideons voice fill the room.

"Excuse me Ms. (L/N), but the team requests you to be ready to leave the Waverider in precisely 5 minutes." You wipe away the few tears that had fallen and got up off the floor.

     "Yeah, yeah. Thanks Gideon."
