"How is it possible that there are no cure," I shouted at the clueless pack doctor.
It was Monday morning and I had gone to my uncle's appointment with him. As you could guess, I was agitated.
"I-I'm sorry! He waited too long," he whimpered. My wolf, Elisheva, reared her head and growled at that. "So it's his fault then?" I looked down at my shaking hands as I attempted to keep my wolf in check.
I was having a difficult keeping Elisheva in check. I closed my eyes and attempted to calm myself, but she just pushed against the mental barrier harder. My eyes, now pitch-black, flashed open. I felt Elisheva shove me to the back of our mind as she took control.
As long as he kept his mouth shut he might have a chance... "I really am sorry," he whimpered, cowering in the corner. He was using his clipboard as a sort of shield.
And with that I snapped, my wolf completely taking over. She launched herself at him, all claws and fangs as she began to try and hurt him as much as we had been hurt.
Elisheva, I began. You know this won't make us feel better, he's just doing his job.
She wasn't able too get many punches in before I felt arms circle me. "Let me go," she growled as she struggled to get out of the person's arms. She took another deep breath to yell at the person before she froze. It was Coinin.
"What are you doing here?" She had gone limp in his arms
"Well hello to you too," he said.
She turned around in his arms so she could see him as I talked to him. "Sorry, Hello. Anyways, what are you doing here? Are Remus and Romulus here too," she added with a gleam in her eyes.
"Yeah. They're just talking to your uncle's receptionist so we can reschedule our meeting." He began to play with my hair as he loosened his grip slightly.
"Can I have Leila back now," he asked.
"Fine," she sulked. "But she said I could show you who the real Alpha is later, all of you," she added.
"She did, did she?"
She simply nodded.
"Well that's fine. Can I have her back now though," he repeated.
Sighing, she retreated to the back of my mind once more without another word. I slowly blinked up at him as I readjusted to being in control of my body once more.
"Oh. How did you know where I was?" I picked off our conversation from where we had started.
I had calmed down by now as I let tingles wash over me as he rubbed soothing circles against my back. I lay my head against his chest, arms wrapped around him as I waited for him to answer.
"My wolf could feel your agitation, I just followed your scent," he said as he wrapped his arms around me in return. "Better?" I nodded against his chest.
When I was finally calm enough for my mates to leave I realized that I was still supposed to be upset with Romulus and Remus.
"I still don't want to see Remus or Romulus, I'm angry at them," I demanded just as they walked into the room.
"Come on Leila, don't be like that. You know you can't resist all this," Romulus said as he gestured towards his body. My eyes narrowed at that.
"Watch me," I bit out.
"But Leila," he whined.
I turned my back on them, facing Coinin once more before looking out the nearby window. "I don't need this now. If you can't listen and be supportive - all of you - then you can all just go."
I watched as the rain ran down the window like the tears I was holding in as I took in the gray clouds roiling overhead. You would never guess that it was only 2 pm with how dark it was.
Coinin wrapped his arm around me protectively as he scowled at his brothers. "You heard her."
I ignored their response as I continued to absent-mindedly gaze outside. I tuned back in to hear that the argument had escalated and Coinin had left my side. My three mates were in the hallway.
So who was kissing me?
