Mirianna's POV
I wake up to the sound of truck engines roaring and then it hit me, it's moving day. I get up and head towards my almost empty bathroom to brush my teeth and take an icy cold shower. After I'm done I pick out some denim shorts and a white t-shirt to go with my flip flops. I get dressed then put my dark brown hair in a high ponytail and decide not to wear any makeup. I then head to the Kitchen only to see that they have already packed the food.
" What am I suppose to eat if there's nothing in here?" I call out annoyed that they didn't leave anything for me to eat.
" Well, goodmorning to you too." my dad says this in a sarcastic tone while entering the kitchen. I just wanna bitch slap him right now, but I wouldn't, I love him too much and besides I'm too much of a good girl to retaliate anyways.
" Good morning father." I say in an overly chirpy voice while rolling my eyes.
" Now that's more like it." He comes over to kiss my forehead but I stop him.
"No food first!" At this point I sound like a puppy whining for food.
"Okay, head on down to the cafe at the corner of the street and get something to eat," he handed me twenty bucks. I was almost out the door when my dad called after me.
"Hurry back so you can help with the other boxes."
"Yes dad." and with that I was off.
------
As I entered the small cafe I was hit with the aromatic smell of coffee. Walking to the cashier I spotted my best friend Nina. I could always spot her vibrant red hair from a mile away.
"Nina!" I called loud enough for her to hear. As she heard her name her head snapped up and when she saw me she came rushing towards me.
"Hey Anne I was just going to come over to help you pack,"
Seeing that the line was getting longer and I hated waiting I said " Let me order somethng and then we talk."
"Ok."
I ordered a large milkshake and headed to the far right end corner of the cafe where Nina was patiently waiting for me. I sat down and took a drink of my creamy strawbery milkshake. I then looked up to see Nina looking at me with her stormy grey eyes showing sadness and her cherry red lips in a pout.
"Nina what's wrong?" I asked her with my piercing blue eyes showing as much concern as possible.
She sighed then said "What's wrong is that my best friend since kindergarten is moving away and I'll probably never get to see her again." I totally forgot that I was moving until she said that.
My eyes were now brimming with tears threatening to escape. I tried to hold back the tears as much as i could but they were too strong. It has never occured to me that I might not see my best friend again. Sobs were now coming from both Nina and I. I wanted to be strong and not let her see me cry that's why I never really talked about me moving but now reality has slapped me in the face. We both sat there for about 15 minutes until I decided to put an end to this sobbing fest.
I wiped my eyes and said "Dont worry I'll try to come here as much as I can."
With that said her eyes brightened. We sat in the cafe talking about random topics. I then checked my phone only to see that we've been sitting in the cafe talking for over an hour and my dad has been trying to contact me about twenty times.
"Shit he's going to kill me !' I shrieked
"Huh?" NIna said obviously confused at my sudden outburst " who's going to kill you?"
"My dad! I've got to go bye girl."
We hugged for another two minutes before I stormed out of the cafe. When my house came into veiw my heart began to pound in my chest. My dad was there waiting for me with a disapproving look on his face.
"What took you so long I told you to be back early so you could help pack?"
"Daddy I'm really sorry I saw Nina and we kinda got caught up in our conversation that I totally forgot about packing we were both sad that i was leaving then we started crying-" I was cut off by my father.
" It's ok baby." I was so happy to see that he understood.
"Thanks dad I'm going to go pack," I said while hugging him.
"I've already packed everything." Just when he said this I realised that the moving trucks were gone. We then drove off in his sleek black chevrolet cruze.
Goodbye old town I'll surely miss you
