Albus and Scorpius didn't meet until the end of the Christmas holidays.

Too prideful to write to each other, they didn't even see each other at Kings' Cross or sat together in the cabin. Scorpius spent his ride to Hogwarts in front of Michelle, not even knowing with who his... soulmate had settled. Maybe that horrible Ravenclaw? Kathleen? Had they gone on that date meanwhile? Had they got close to each other?

No, they hadn't. Or the bound would have made him feel something. He would have been in pain. Or at least more than how he already was.

«You should talk to him, you know» Michelle leaned her head closer to him, «You have to tell Potter about it, Scorpius. Or I would do it»

The blond looked away. And he felt the scars on his shoulders, on his back, on his chest, where Albus had touched him the last time they had kissed, a month ago, hurting and burning.

«I don't know how» he whispered, more to himself rather than to the dark-haired who seemed more worried than she wanted to show.

Scorpius and she had got really close during the Christmas' holiday. They had kept in contact by owl during the first week and when Draco had found it out, he asked his son if he wanted to invite her to their new house.

Scorpius had literally begged her to come. And when she had finally accepted and come to the new Malfoy's residence, she started to go there every day of the week, growing closer and closer to Scorpius. Until he felt ready to tell her about him and Albus and about the whole soulmates' story. Obviously, before telling her about the curse among them, he asked his father if he could have told her about Harry and him.

Draco, much to his son's surprise approved. He liked her a lot. She reminded him of Pansy. And if Pansy had kept his secret the whole time, even when they were at Hogwarts, her daughter would have done the same.

«Well, find a way» she snapped «This is not a joke, Malfoy. This is more serious than you think».

Scorpius sighed heavily, looking out of the train window.

He couldn't wait to see him again. He had missed Albus. There weren't words to describe how much he had.

"The distance between us has been stitched in the notes of silence we have been planting in every breath but I can still sense your scent on the door we never closed. There are days my absence is the only way you saw me on maps of all the places I was supposed to be and maybe I would never have a line right enough to tell you I didn't mean to. And even though these words could hardly mouth an apology I always carried in my eyes, I would still lay all the pages down your road to making sure you know this door facing my heart has never been latched with locks of wrong pasts, it's just a knock away„

«Albus....»

The brunette arrived in their bedroom after the young Malfoy. Now they were finally alone in the dormitory, standing one in front of the other, the blond next to his bed and the green-eyed still near the door. Their eyes locked.

«Scorpius...»

And the room was suddenly spinning around them, taking their breaths away and making them feel as if they had just seen the most wonderful view in their lives.

«Sorry» Albus whispered «I can't do this anymore»

He couldn't have handled his sight any longer. He ran towards him, jumping on the grey-eyed and hugging him, his arms around his neck.

A bit shocked at first, Scorpius placed his hands around the shorter's waist only after one whole minute of pure awe. Then he rested his chin in the crook of his neck and closed his eyes, enjoying his scent and letting it invade his nostrils.

«I'm so sorry, Al. It was all my fault» he muttered in his ear «I should have said it to you-»

«No, you shouldn't have!» he immediately halted him «You don't have to until you feel safe saying it. I know you do. I know you love me. I can feel it. And that's all that matters».

Scorpius held him tightly. He had missed his touch and his body and his skin and his smell and his voice so much. So freaking much.

«I acted childishly. I have been such a selfish and arrogant prat...» Albus murmured, shutting his eyes too to focus on the taller's proximity, «I can't believe I have survived this whole time without you»

«Neither do I» Albus's hug tightened «I wanted to write you. But I was scared you wouldn't have replied to me»

Silence fell between them. But they stayed into each other's arms for much more time. They both had lost track of time until Albus interrupted the stillness,

«I missed you» he mumbled «So much. I can't explain it with words»

«Me too. Every day knowing you were angry at me felt like being stabbed to death»

«I'm not angry now. It was my fault» Scorpius tried to slow him but Albus didn't let him «I love you. You don't have to say it back but I do» he paused «Don't ever leave me again»

«Yes» Scorpius suddenly raised his head and looked at the dark-haired right in the eyes «Never leave»

Albus leaned first but Scorpius met him halfway. And as soon as their lips connected, they both felt their hearts beating faster and faster, a fire heating up and sending sparkles in both of their chests.

It had been chaste and simple until Albus' lips parted a little and their tongues touched for the very second time in their lives.

And their minds went blind, no guilty thoughts anymore. Scorpius loved it. Albus loved it.

The strange thing? Nothing moved, nothing exploded and no window broke down in the room.

«I love you...» Albus whispered.

Scorpius retreated slowly, interrupting the kiss.

Feeling that there was blood, flowing in his mouth.
