«Al, stop it!»
He was tickling him. In the library. At past midnight.
«Why? Has no one ever done it do you?» the brunette continued although they had both crashed onto the desk behind them.
"You make me feel things. Things I locked away. Things I didn't think possible, To feel again. You make me feel, like we're stuck in a moment, hidden from time. Stolen hours even days, feel like mere minute as they rush by. You make me forget, all my worries, and the unwilling commitments, the world has put in my path. You make me remember how it feels to truly laugh.„
«No! Stop this or I'll punch-» he couldn't help but laugh «Punch you!»
"I could spend a thousand years with your hand in mine and still not get tired of the way your eyes shine when you laugh„.
They were there to find something about what happened the day, the night before, in the Forbidden Forest. Maybe to find a book about how it could be possible that there had been an explosion while they were just... kissing.
«Then do it, punch me» Albus smiled, their eyes fixed on the other.
But Scorpius knew that there was a problem, a big one: the brunette didn't know anything about what had happened between their fathers, that they had been in love, that maybe they were even soulmates, so why would he think that that chaos they had created could have something to do with the legend?
The blond knew it and he knew he should've have told the green-eyed about the diary before all this happened.
«Move, Al. Your breath is horrible,» he tried to escape from the little space between shorter's body and the wooden desk behind him. But he didn't lose his grip on the taller wrists, blocking his way.
"I'm not scared of being alone, but I know how it feels to be with someone that laughs at all the same things you do... and I miss that.„
«Why? I could kiss you. And make us feel how we both felt yesterday?» the raven-haired whispered in his ear and Scorpius suddenly felt his knees weak.
Yes, they hadn't still talked about that neither.
Obviously, they didn't kiss again nor slept together or hugged: the blue-eyed refused every single proximity to him apart from sitting next to each other in class, too scared to feel their skins touching again and creating that thing.Because, deep down, he had already understood: he already knew that their Draco and Harry were soulmates but they tried to forget what they had. They married and they had children.
«No, Al. We need to start searching if we want to find something before dawn,» he quickly left, escaped from the cage the brunette was creating and glanced at the shelves full of books, «Plus, be quiet. We don't want to be heard. Come on»
So James, Lily, Albus and he were born.
Nevertheless, they were all wizards...how could that be possible? The myth said that non-soulmates had muggles as babies. But that wasn't the problem.
Scorpius knew the legend: Albus and he were soulmates just like their fathers, automatically attracted to each other. However, if both of them had magic powers... then there was the curse.
The curse that the Dark Wizard has put on the wizards' non-soulmates children. They started searching.

«It's funny, isn't it?» Albus spoke, a little laugh escaping his lips, «These books only say that what happened to us can be caused by that soulmate myth»
Scorpius, however, didn't laugh at all.
It was half-past one in the morning and they were still in the library, sitting one in front of the other with three or ten books (the blond had lost the count of how many they had read) opened in front of them.
They were tired. Very tired. But they really wanted to know what had happened that night, what was the ache and relief that they felt when they were close to each other.
Especially Scorpius who wanted to convince himself that it wasn't true, that what they had nothing to do with the legend.
«But our parents hated each other,» Albus raised his head from the books, looking at him «I mean, my mum hated your dad and didn't ever even talk to...» Astoria's death was still a delicate theme «Nor my dad»
«So it only could be the famous Harry Potter and Draco Malfoy,» the green-eyed laughed «But they hated, they despised each other. They were always fighting when they were here at Hogwarts. There must be another explanation for what happened», he paused, sighing with a small smile still on his lips.
«But it's funny, isn't it?» he added after maybe two minutes of pure and authentic silence.
But Scorpius wasn't even looking at him, not daring to raise his head from the book in his hands.
And Albus has enough of it.
«Scorp, why aren't you looking at me?»
The above-mentioned remained still, conflicted about what was better to do: telling him about his father's diary? Saying that they had a curse on them because their dads were soulmates? Or stay silent and go on with their lives until one of them discovered how the curse would affect them?
«Stop it, Scorpius Malfoy. What are you hiding from me?»
When the taller suddenly raised his head, the eyes immediately locked and they both felt a shiver down their spines.
«I have to tell you something, Al. Promise me you won't freak out,» he spoke calmly.
«Okay, Scorp. I promise,» his hands tried to reach his, but the blond retreated them «Just tell me what's happening,»
«I'm sorry I haven't said you this before all this happened, you have to know that...»
So Scorpius told him. Told him how their fathers, in reality, loved each other. Not hated. Not despised. And how that was now affecting them: their parents were the only wizards in their century who had surprisingly succeeded in having magical children with their non-soulmate.
«I thought we couldn't be more fucked than we already were»
