"Honey, you have to move back in Pattaya" My mom said through the phone call.
"Why? Is something bad happened?" I stated while looking in the window of my condo were you can see the Wonder of Bangkok. Tall buildings, and city lights cover the city's soul.
"I just want you to have a break from the noise of the city. I dreamt of you last night and I was worried."
"Mom, I'm fine." I glanced in the mirror and saw my reflection.
It's been 6 years since I went home and I don't have any plans to comeback. I kept on staring myself in the mirror and memories from the past comes rushing back to me.
"Honey, are you there? Hello?" I snapped the end call button and left my phone at the table near by the window.
"Is he doing fine?" I cooed. It's been 6 years since I saw him, the last time was when I left Pattaya. He begged not to leave the countryside and make memories with each other. I want to stay on his side, but I have to priorities something. From that day, I saw how Bright cried and I left him, standing in the middle of the road.
My mom wants me to come back to Pattaya to have a break. She knows that I was dealing with my Anxiety, and the best way to overcome it, is to be in a place where stress couldn't follow me.
And Bright suddenly popped up in my mind. His red lips, his fierce eyes, and his nose. I remember every detail of his face.
Maybe it's time to come back and forgive myself from the past. We shouldn't let the ghost from our past scares us more. The only thing to escape them is to make a new memory; A genuine and happy one.
I made a call to my mom telling her that I will go to Pattaya and stay there until summer's end.
**My mom drove the car for 2 hours and we'd finally arrived. The road was too small and I have no choice but to walk through the cement pathway. Our house was quite far from the entrance of our town. It will take 30mins of walking with my huge case. I could tell it was too exhausting.
I had a hard time with my belongings. Walking under the sun while wearing a thick gray sweater wasn't a joke. Sweats from my forehead gracefully falling. As I walk, I noticed the huge acacia tree in the middle of the farm. It didn't change at all.
I shook my head on what I saw. It was Bright leaning on the tree, busy typing with his laptop.
I stopped for a minute.
He changes a lot. From his hair, to his shirt, and to his shoes. I guess time flies so fast he even grew so tall.
My heart filled with Joy when I saw him and without hesitation, I called his name full of excitement. I don't know what I had done, but one thing clear, Bright is here.
"Hi, Bright" I shouted very loud and when he looked at me, my heart beats so fast;
He just waved at me and continue on what he is doing. I stared at him for a minute, but he didn't give me a second, and I decided to leave him and went to our house full of disappointment
This day was exhausting.
When I finally reached our house, I immediately went to my room, fix my things, went to the bathroom and took a shower. It's been 6 already, and in my window, you can see how the sun drowns into the sea of cloud and I let myself mesmerized by it.
"It's been a while" I uttered
What's more beautiful about Pattaya wasn't the farm nor the countryside vibe.
It's the memories I created, the memories we created. My first cry, my first laugh, my first fight and my first love, and how I Left my first love.
