Hanan was trying to be patient but the delay in Ayat's approval for nikkah was making him scared

What if she refused? His mind asked

Hanan cleared his throat, trying to think positivity, she won't refuse

But what if she did? His mind again asked, but his heart hoped

Why are they taking so long?

He again looked at the staircase to see if his father is coming with qaazi sahab or not

"Have patience, itne utawle mat bano, Hanan." Kabir, who was sitting beside him on sofa, nudge him with his elbow and whispered

(Don't be desperate.)

"Tumhara time ayega na, tab puchunga.... ki Kabir, patience kaha Hai? yaha to mere Dil ka haal sirf main hi janta hoon." Hanan whispered back, not for once, his eyes left staircase

As if, Hanan's wait was over, he saw his father coming down, Hanan get up from sofa and looked at his father when his eyes fall on Azlan, who was walking side by side with Huzaifa and Huzaifa was telling him something, his hands were on Azlan's shoulder, as if consoling him

Hanan brows furrowed as he again looked at his father, his father was telling qazi sahab something and looked tensed

"Kya hua?" When they all get down and reached him, Hanan asked

"Ayat ne nikkah se Mana Kar diya?"

"Beti ki jab Shaadi hoti Hai toh ek baap hi janta Hai uske Dil pe Kya beet-ti Hai." Huzaifa softly explained him, the softness which made Kabir wonder is he his father

"Ayat ne nikkah se inkar nahi kiya." Shahzain add while glaring at Hanan
