The sun light flutters through the curtains, illuminating the room, Kaif's eyes opened his eyes when the sun rays disturbed his sleep.

Once again closing his eyes, he turned his face on other side of the bed, to find comfort, but his sleep was ruined by his wife's voice.

"Kaif! Kaif, uthiye, dekhiye kitna late ho gaya hai. Apko office nahi jana?" Shaking his shoulder, Ayla called him. She has just gotten out from shower, wet hair falling on her back and wetting her kurti as well.

(Kaif! Kaif, wake up, you will get late for office.)

Kaif groaned something in the pillow but Ayla was not able to detect what he said.

"Kaif, uthe, bohot late ho gaya hai. Bahane na banaye." Sitting on the bed, Ayla once again tried to wake him up.

(Kaif, get up, it's already late, don't make excuses.)

"Yaar, mera sar dard ho raha hai, Ayla." This time, Kaif moved a little and removed the duvet from his face, he complained.

(I have a headache, Ayla.)

He indeed looked sick, eyes red, face pale and voice shaky.

"Sar dard?" Ayla put her hand on his head to check for temperature, he was burning. "Apko toh fever bhi lag raha hai."

(Headache?)
(You have fever.)

"Rukiye hum atey hain." Getting up, Ayla went to her cupboard to take thermometer.

(Wait, I'll just come.)

"Apka temperature toh kafi high hai, aap yeh duvet hataye," After seeing his temperature in thermometer, Ayla said, as she removed the duvet from his body.

(Your temperature is very high.)

"Hum apke liye nashta leke atey hain usko khane ke baad dawai le lijiyega." Brushing his hair away from his forehead, Ayla said.

(I'll get you something to eat after that you'll have medicine.)

Kaif only nods his head as he once again laid down when she left.

"Ayla!" Huzaifa called her when she entered dining room. "Yeh Kaif ab tak so raha hai? Office nahi jana ussey?"

(Is Kaif still sleeping? Won't he go to office?)

"Taya abbu, inhe toh bohot tezz bukhar hai, hume nahi lagta aaj inhe office jana chahiye." Ayla informed him.

(Taya abbu, he is having fever, I don't think he will able to go to office.)

"Bukhar hai? Kaise? Zaroori ac ka temperature uppar niche hua hoga, ussey adat hai ek hi temperature mein sone ki. Ab kaisa hai woh? Aur tumne mujhe pehle kyu nahi bataya?" Rukhsar asked, worriedly, but didn't wait for Ayal's reply as she quickly went to Kaif's room to check on him.

(He has fever? How? He gets sick by the slight change in temperature of a.c. How is he? Why didn't you tell me earlier?)

"Inke liye toh Kaif ab tak bachha hai." Huzaifa shook his head and told Ayla.

(She still treats Kaif like a kid.)

"Parents ke liye bachhe hamesha bachhe hi rehte hain." Smiling, Ayla said.

She recalled how Rubab used to get worried whenever Ayla or Ayat fell sick. Ayla used to feel sick very less, but Ayat was sick after every month, and the way Rubab used to pamper a sick Ayat, it was used be amusing as Ayat used to whined for being bed jailed, and Rubab would not allow her to go outside her room.
