Shadow-Dancer: Return Of An Old Foe [ALTERNATE UNIVERSE VERSION]

Chapter 1: Long Distance No More

*April 23, 2019*

Adam's POV

It's late at night and I'm walking down the streets of Bristol when I suddenly feel myself losing control of my body.

"No, no, no!" I say as I hurriedly turn into a dark alleyway. Big mistake. My eyes suddenly begin to glow yellow, my pupils becoming slits. And I simply let it happen. Suddenly, my eyes return to normal. However, Bill begins to emerge from my body, pulling his head, then his arms, then his torso, then his legs, free. Many strands of energy are connecting us. He's holding his end of the strands in his hands, while my end is wrapped around my heart.

"What are ya doin'?" I ask in shock.

"WHAT I SHOULD HAVE DONE A LONG TIME AGO!" Bill says.

"No, NO! WE HAD A DEAL!" I exclaim.

"YEAH, WELL, THE DEAL'S OFF!" he says as he yanks on the strand, and my body lurches forwards. The strands, which are tightly wrapped around my heart, rip it out of my chest. Bill opens his mouth wider than humanly possible and devours my heart whole as I collapse to the ground, a puddle of my own blood forming around me. The last thing I see is Bill leaving through a portal. Then, I reach out for the light as I let the darkness consume me. Forever.

*April 24, 2019*

Becca's POV

Ob and I are editing our latest dance routine video for our second channel, "Shadow-dancer", which doesn't exist because this is a fictional story.

"Wow!" I think.

"What?" Ob asks.

"First chapter an' I'm already breakin' the fourth wall! Then again, it's pretty much shattered at this point so, meh."

"Well, 4ut15t1c_w47k3r intended for us ta be self-aware in this alternate version of our story, so we're goin' ta use that ta our advantage."

"Becca, Ob!" Jack calls. "Lunch is ready!" I save the edits we made to the video (I'm simply choosing which parts of the recording to keep and which ones to either trash or save for a bloopers compilation since the effects in the video are a result of the powers that Ob and I have) and Ob and I make our way to the dining room where Jack, Evelien and Anti are waiting. There are several different foods just waiting to be eaten, but the one that catches my eye is the bowl of mashed potatoes. Ob and I sit down and everyone begins to dig in.

"So, what were ya workin' on?" Jack asks.

"We were workin' on editin' our latest dance routine video," I say.

"There's someone at the door," Ob says through our mental link. Not even a second later, someone rings the doorbell.

"Called it!" she cheers.

"Oh, be quiet," I tell her as I walk to the door. I open it to find Lily standing there.

"Top o' the mornin' to ya, Lily!" I say. "Come on in!" She walks inside, giving me a quick kiss.

"Top o' the mornin' to ya too, babe!" she says. "So, I've got some good news an' I've got some bad news."

"What's the good news?" Ob asks, walking into the front room.

"The good news is that my mum and I have moved inta the house next door." I almost stand up and hug Lily in excitement and utter happiness, but Ob places a hand on my shoulder.

"What's the bad news?" she asks.

"Check the news," Turq answers as she emerges from Lily's body. I head into the family room and turn on the TV, flipping to the BBC News channel.

"Just last night, police officers found a dead body in a dark alleyway," the reporter says. "The victim has been identified as 16-year-old Adam Wrightson, who was found dead, with his heart having been ripped out of his chest, in an alleyway in Bristol early this morning."

"This is exactly how Will..." I begin, but I end up trailing off as all the memories of Will's death come flooding in. Ob leans over, letting me put my head on her shoulder as she strokes my hair.

"An' yet this is the first one ta be discovered by the police," Ob chimes in as she calms me down.

"Alright, that's enough sadness fer one day," Turq says. "Whaddaya say Lily an' I give ya a tour of our new place?"

"We'd love ta have a tour," I say as Ob turns into her spirit form and goes into my body. Turq does the same, going into Lily's body.

"Jack, I'm going over to Lily's!" I call.

"Okay!" he answers. "Just make sure ta be home before sundown!"

"I will!" I say as Lily and I walk out the door.

Author: We're finally kicking off the alternate version of "Shadow-Dancer: Return Of An Old Foe!" Sorry it took so long. I'm kinda working on two stories simultaneously.

Becca: Aside from this chapter, this story will start out with the same plot that the original version had, but the remainder of this new version will have a completely new plot.
