3 pm- sixteenth hour
"You do realize you've been gone for a very long time, Styles?" Connor said, not looking up from the stove.
"Uh, yeah, I got distracted . . ." Harry trailed off, stepping around the corner and looking at everything Connor was preparing for the party.
"Distracted how?" Connor bit.
"The park . . ." Harry mumbled, playing with his hair, still in awe that Connor was working so hard to prepare this day for him.
"Well, I'd be happy if you could answer my calls next time you disappear to the park," she responded, still angry.
"I turned my phone off," he explained, his eyes softening when he saw how hard she was working to get everything just right.
"That was a good idea," she sarcastically laughed.
"I'm sorry, I'm just so anxious and stressed out," he tried to explain.
"I know, I know. I'm sorry too. I'm just so worried about you," she soothed.
"Hey," he tried, grabbing at her wrist. "I'll be okay. I'm all good. It's good," he assured her. He gave her a quick kiss and retreated to the bathroom to shower.
4 pm- seventeenth hour
"I'm going to shit myself," Harry paced.
"No, you aren't." She handed him a striped tee and black jeans. "Just calm down. Don't think about it," she soothed.
"Not really as easy as it sounds, princess," he sassed.
"Well, hot damn, you have attitude!" She laughed.
He pulled his pants up his legs (with great struggle) as Connor bent over to pick up his dirty clothes, and put them in the hamper.
"Why do you have to wear those jeans? You're 30 now, how about khakis?" She smiled.
"Hell no."
"Alright, alright, I'm just expanding your options," she joked.
"I like my options limited," he winked.
"I don't get it," she said.
"Alright," he shrugged.
"Come help me finish cooking," she said over her shoulder, walking out of the bedroom.
"Coming," he yelled, buckling his belt. He tried so hard to think about anything but the butterflies in his stomach.
5 pm- eighteenth hour
"Shit, shit, shit," Harry strained, pulling on his curls.
"What's wrong?" Connor chuckled.
"You know very well," he snapped and she snickered. "Shit, I'm sweating. Shit."
"Just go sit down. You've got like five minutes," she laughed. She was stressed, but only for him.
"Five? Goddamn!" He yelled checking his watch.
6 pm- nineteenth hour
"They should be here anytime soon," Connor told him at five past six. She patted his back in the same pattern that the knock at the door came.
"Shit, I can't do it," he complained.
"Answer it, Harry," she whispered.
"No, I can't," he refused.
"C'mon," she pushed him toward the door.
He placed his shaking hand on the doorknob and turned it to the right. He pulled it open to reveal a brown-headed girl and boy with intertwined fingers. The boy was turned around facing his girl, obviously shaking, yet Harry knew who it was. Louis.
"Lou," he breathed out.
Louis turned around, and looked at Harry. His eyes immediately softened, and he let go of Eleanor's hand. He had stubble growing on his face, and he had bags under his sweet blue eyes. His hair was still being swept across his forehead in a messy fashioned. Harry took him in with adoration.
Louis jumped into Harry's arms, and Harry squeezed him like never before. He walked him into the apartment, while Eleanor stepped in smiling at them, and shut the door behind her. She walked over to Connor, and gave her a friendly hug.
Louis finally let go with tears in his eyes, but he wasn't the only one. He wiped Harry's eyes, whilst Harry wiped Louis'.
"I missed you, Lou," Harry smiled.
"I missed you, too, Haz," he smiled.
"You haven't changed a bit, have you?" Harry asked, pointing to his hair.
"Nope, El likes it this way," he said. He smiled at Eleanor where she was standing with Connor.
Harry waved her over, and she sheepishly walked into his arms. He gave her a big hug after kissing her on the cheek.
"How are you, Mrs. Tomlinson?" He joked.
"I'm wonderful, Harry. How are you?" She politely smiled.
"Perfect," he said.
Another knock came at the door.
"You know, the anticipation of who it is still lingers since there's seven other boys that need to show up," Harry laughed. The three others chuckled behind him.
He continued to let in Zayn and Perrie, then Luke and Ashton. Then came Niall and Calum, Michael and Paul, Gemma and Anne, and Liam and Danielle. Lou and Lux eventually showed up, too. Harry was content with everyone here in his home, but he still had that nervous feeling inside him.
