Recap:

"Naruto-kun! That's a bit harsh!" Sakura scolded.

"No....He isn't." I say, my voice cold. I get up abruptly from the table and walk to the door. "Naru-kun's completely right." I open it, and let the cold wind tousle my hair. "At least...At least you still have a mother and a grandfather who loves and cares for you." I slam the door behind me. Taking a deep breath, I close my eyes for a moment before leaping away into the trees.

Chapter 33 - Go On, Ducky!

Sasuke's P.O.V.

I watch as Naruto goes to his room, and Kumiko opened the door of the house. 'Kumi-chan is right.' I think to myself. 'At least he has a mother and a grandfather.' Excusing myself from the table, I follow Kumiko. As I get to the door, it slams shut and hit my nose.

'That hurt.' I frowned, rubbing my nose slightly before opening the door again and leaping after her.

I stop in the trees of a clearing, and watch as Kumiko creates a Shadow Clone and fights with it. 'Hn. So she's venting her anger. I'll just stay and watch in case she hurts herself.'

Kakashi's P.O.V.

I sighed as I looked out of the window. Inari was still sitting outside watching the sea, and it was about midnight by now. Stepping outside, I ask casually, "Got a minute?"

Inari turned around, and I sat next to him. "Naruto-kun didn't mean any harm with what he said." I told Inari after a few moments of silence. "He's just uncouth. Kumiko-chan....Well, I'll get to that in a moment. We heard the story about your father from Tazuna. I'll start with Naruto-kun. Like you, he never had a father as a young child...Actually he doesn't know either of his parents. Not only that, he didn't have a single friend until last year, it seems."

"What?" Inari looked up.

"However...I've never seen him sulk, be timid, or cry." I looked at Inari. "He's always eager, wanting to be acknowledged by someone. If it's for the sake of that 'dream,' he always risks his life. He's probably tired of crying."

"What about Kumiko?" Inari wondered.

"Well...Her grandfather died of old age when she was little. Some time later, one of the Uchiha that she called 'Nii-san' murdered the entire clan, except for Sasuke-kun and her, Uchiha Itachi. Apparently, she was separated from Sasuke-kun and her memories erased by someone unknown, and sent to Sunagakure." I shook my head. How was she transported to Sunagakure during that night? "Anyways, she had some distant relatives living there....from the Neko clan, and she lived there, believing to be their child. She was treated .....poorly by the people of Sunagakure, but she loved her family. However, they were murdered one night, by Itachi again, even their dog. A Konohagakure ninja saved her, Natsumi-chan, but Natsumi-chan was killed by two other rogue ninja shortly after. But, she's extremely determined like Naruto-kun, and willing to fight for her teammates. She doesn't like to give up." I glanced at Inari, who was staring at me with wide eyes.

"And they both laugh and everything...." Inari murmured.

I smiled slightly. "Yes. They're strong....Like your father. What Naruto-kun told you...There's no mistaking that he's told himself that over and over again." I gave him a closed-eyed smile. 'Now's probably the best time to tell the kid I worry about Kumiko-chan. Not many children could go through all that without going insane.' I think to myself.

(A/N: Okay, now I feel bad for making Kumi-chan go through all of those things. >.<)
